I think it's likely just speculation from Furman: he's not even writing the prequel to the sequel (lol, how confusing).
Interesting. I wasn't actually expecting the Fallen to actually be in the movie sequel. I'm really gaining interest in this Maximum Dinobots min series. I'll have to find someplace near me that will sell them so I can pick all of them up. Also, for all we know, the Fallen could actually be Megatron reborn, instead of the typical Megatron to Galvatron upgrade. Though for some reason I don't see that happening in the movies.
Thing is, IDW has the screenplay for Revenge of the Fallen, and Furman is writing the adaptation for Revenge.
I've been VERY iffy about "The Thirteen," but the fact that they're working THIS closely with Hasbro on it makes me feel a bit more relieved. I don't want some big contradictory mess that leaves out Vector Prime and the combiner from the Fan Club just because the characters didn't originate in the G1 continuity family, which I'm inclined to think we would have GOT if Furman had been left to his own devices. But if Hasbro's standing there with a sharp stick to poke him with, this might be all right after all.
I wonder if this series will reinforce Hasbro's overriding decree that Primus and Unicron exist in ALL continuities of Transformers, regardless of what their writers and creators have said. That goes for Furman's IDW-verse (before the AHM semi-reboot) and the Movie-verse, too.
The Fallen? As a Movie-former? On FIRE?! 2009 can't come soon enough! There is only one resonable option! I must freeze myself until July of next year!
Yeah I was pretty stoked at the con panel when they revealed the 13 storyline was gonna happen. I asked Simon about that at last years con and he couldnt say at that time. Drift looks awesome and Spotlight Blurr is gonna rock too.
Exciting news so far. Interesting to see that the December teaser ad with the Cybertronian symbols for the sequel reminds me a bit of ancient Chinese characters.
I hope the Dinobots and Grimlock survive in AHM. Is ther any hint they are gonna be killed of or something?
Well... I assume Furman will be refining what he already wrote for "The Ultimate Guide" when he does the mythology of the Thirteen. Which means that Unicron will likely NOT have a direct role in the story... sure, he'll be a player given his corruption of The Fallen, but I don't know how direct it'll be... Unless, Primus splits into the multiverse in an attempt to STOP Unicron and confuse him... perhaps the Thirteen possess that power and that explains why they are constant across realms (See: Vector Prime, who by club continuity is established as being able to travel the multiverse)
