Furman's gift for our holydays: his outline for Dreamwave's G1 book: issue #14.
Continuing McDonough and Patyk's storyline, Jetfire is back from the dead and he meets someone from the War Within age, coming to full continuity circle.

Nifty! I had never really gotten into the G1 series like I did Energon, but that sounded like a really good issue.

I must say that I'm amazed by this work: it is supposed to be a "fill in", but it's filled with epic, ideas, new concepts, potential plots.
The secret history of the Transformers, told by an unexpected point of view (Jetfire is accessing the Fallen's memories, but he also get to see the future).
The references to ALL the War Within books (space turbines from vol 1, Jetfire and the Fallen from vol. 2, Shockwave's cloning experiments in vol 3) and the seamless amalgamation with McDonough and Patyk's continuity.
The surprise ending, in horror style.

That would have been an awesome story. I'm glad we're finally getting to hear about these "comics that never were", such a pity they blow away what we're getting now. Not ragging on what IDW is doing, but some of these concepts and ideas just go one step beyond.

I really wish IDW would try to publish stories in this continuity. It was much more fun, and the story lines were epic.

Not that it needs to be said, but no TF writer is in the same league as Furman. As much as I loved LSotW, Furmans work is just on a whole other level. Too bad we didn't get to see this story unfold, but it's great to at least get an idea of what was going to happen right after the deat of DW.

Reading this (and the recent Energon outlines Furman posted) makes me sad/mad all over again over what happened with Dreamwave. I know everyone has different tastes, but the Dreamwave stories and art have always been my favorite.

What a great read. That would have been one heck of a storyline. I hope Furman post more of his DW G1 stuff.
