so damn awesome, I really enjoyed the first series and the movie. cant wait to watch these.
Got one question, does Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood follow the movie? cause I heard there was a comic book series that took place after the movie.

Theres an OAV that takes place after the movie. The new series is a complete remake from the original, and will follow the manga version of the story.

THANK GOODNESS. The manga was a billion times better than the anime.

Looks like they are trying some new animation techniques. I enjoyed the episode.

I gotta check this out. I really dug the first anime and OVA. Still haven't read the manga but have have flipped through it and I recall reading about some differences in the two versions.

I did watch the new opening online. It's interesting to see them redo the series like this. Does anyone know how this came about? I can't recall ever seeing a series get redone so soon after the original just to be more accurate to the source material.

    *edit*

Just watched episode 1. I found it pretty impressive. Visually it's quite similar but somehow still felt different. Not sure if that's the direction, animation, or just how Central looked. The Ice Alchemist was pretty sweet too. All in all I dug it and look forward to seeing how this series progresses on it's own and in relation to the first.

Funimation are streaming it on their website from the 9th, I plan on checking it out from there. Just wish they could get the things online a little closer to the Japanese airdate, but the fact they're putting it online at all is really cool. And for once, it's not region locked either so I can watch it to my heart's content.

Are they streaming it in HD? This will be the deciding factor between chosing Funi or Fansubs.

It's a really good idea though that they are offering it themselves for free. Just like Viz is doing with Naruto.

I enjoyed for first series but not a franchise I'd watch again to be honest, good show but not great.

Just watched the first episode on Funimation's streaming service, it's pretty cool. Not too sure about all the exaggerated reactions and stuff, though. First time I've ever seen the series (never got around to the first one) but this seems as though it's got a rather deep story going for it.

ok Im sticking with funanimation Subs, -granted some interpretations I may not like but is facinating to see someone else than me translate stuff and their take on phrases-

Also for some reason I like lockon Mustang.

granted I liked the other guy who voiced mustang better, but Ill live.

I'm really curious about this, though I get the feeling I need to get up off my ass and catch back up on the magna...

Watched, and it was pretty frickin' cool I must say. As it stands, not much to seperate it from the original Anime (in fact, it could almost work as a prequel episode), but I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes. Can't wait for the dub.

Also: What are these OVAs and where can I get them?
