I used my classics starscream and turned him into thundercracker. I used a masterpiece thundercracker as a model for this one's paint scheme. I also chose to use a metallic paint as well. I don't have missiles for it yet but I will soon enough.

Should I use a semi-gloss or matte sealer?

Also before applying the sealer, can I use windex or something to clean the painted surface once it's fully dry?

Don't have any answers for you, but I love that paintjob! It's spot on. :thumbs2:
    What paint did you use?

Thanks for the comment, I used Tamiya metallic blue, Model Master's flat black, and Model Master's silver.

I'm still trying to decide whether to paint the wing details on myself (leaning more toward that) or buying wing detail stickers.

Looking great, man. I really dig those colors! Do you use a brush to paint or do you spray or airbrush? Just curious--the paint apps look perfect.

If it were mine, I'd probably paint the wing details on myself or create or find someone who does decals for these guys.

Thanks HX, I actually hand brushed it entirely.

Quick ? for you... when you did your Starscream wing details, how did you line it up so well? I've used masking tape on a practice tformer but it failed every time.

Nice brush work then, my friend!

When I painted the wing details on Starscream, I just used a very small detail brush and very carefully did it by hand (I followed along one of the grooves and painted only on that side of it). It took a bit, but it came out great. It's not "G1" or anything, but it was my take on it. I just got a small amount of paint on the brush and instead of painting more vertical, I laid the brush down almost horizontal to the wings and pulled the brush down the line, leaving a thin layer of paint, continued that until it was covered and dry, then hit it once more.

Ahh, I see what you mean on the wings. That's a great way to do it and that's what I will do myself. I really don't want to lay down stickers (except of course the decepticon symbols). Thanks!

I'd go with stickers, personally, but, it's up to you, you can use automotive pinstriping kits, too, if you want, I did, and they look great.

    Nice paintjob!

    nice work!
I would paint the stripes, blends better with the rest of the mold than using stickers.. but that's just me!
I've seen some great customs with stickers instead of paint, so it's really up to you :)

    Added Wing Stripes

I taped the off with model masking tape and added the main lines, still have to do the silver accent lines as well but I'll wait till tomorrow for that at least. Paint is still a bit wet.

Thanks for the comments guys! I do plan on making others in the future, I want to try different shades and color schemes to see what the best is. I like these figures a lot.

That's an impressive brush job! On first viewing, I thought you used spray paint.

    Great work!
