Sorry if Spam, but for those that own anything Transformers, or even not, if you're not on a hospital bed needing blood, there's always time to give the gift of life and be thankful this Christmas.

This is something very personal to me and I am a proud donor. A heroic Autobot in this sense.

    Merry Christmas to all!

I used to donate every 3-6 months until I started getting tattoos. I haven't yet gone the full 12 months without getting another, so if I ever get around to being eligible again, I'll start donating.

It's definitely an important thing to do though. When I was very young, I had a prolonged illness that threatened my life, and I'm told that I had so many transfusions that the hospital was exhausted of my blood type (a fairly rare type for white males) so I try to give back when I can.

Jux,how many tattoos do you have? I'm up to 10 including a chest piece.
My blood donation was kind of a spur of the moment deal. I was at Cabela's and saw they were having a blood drive so I said to myself "Sure why not."

I only have two areas - one on my right upper arm and one on my left upper arm/shoulder. But they've been spread across three sessions, all 9-10 months apart, with the last one being late January 2008.

I'm waiting to get more until my sister finishes up her apprenticeship so she can be my regular artist.

i gave blood as often as possible, but recently, with my surgery and bouncing blood pressure, (damnit, always like 2-5 points too high) they turn me away.

i miss it really. it is a good thing to do.
The last time i tried to donate, i had my nieces there with me so i could take the "ick" and fear out of it.

and heck, where else can you get an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin for sitting and a little bleeding into a pouch?

    good all around.

I've always wanted to donate, but it seems no one will take my clean, disease-free, uncontaminated blood.

    Ah well, their loss.

Totally not a loaded question, but just curious--why not just lie?

I donate blood whenever we have blood drives at work and school. Plus they give you a juice box afterwards!

I have been donating blood off and on for the past 15 years. I think I have donated a total of seven gallons. But there was a time I did'nt donate for five of those years.

There has been times they had to turned me away, because of my blood pressure was up. But there has been other times they called me everytime they ran low of B+ blood.
