I have a friend that will be Tokyo in the next week. She knows I collect Transformers and asked if there's anything I wanted her to pick up for me. Naturally my mind is bouncing up and down thinking of all the possibilities. But I think I should have some guidelines. I don't want to make her carry around something big/bulky. She probably has limited space in the luggage to begin with. I also don't want to make her go hunt for some obscure item either.

All that being said, anyone have suggestions? I'm into the Prime stuff currently. Are there any Vehicons she could possibly find there now? I'm open to any ideas though. Something Deluxe size or smaller probably. Thanks  

 

FE vehicons! As many as she could fit! There equal to gold in the rest of the world

 

Definitely the First Edition molds, if you don't already have them. Keep in mind that they aren't actually called "First Edition" in Japan.

If the rumors are true that the FE Vehicons are easy to find at TRU then I think that is the correct answer. I've been told that stuff like variants aren't all the easy to find. For AM stuff, only the items that are hard to find now or soon to be released (Skywarp, Terrorcon Cliffjumper). . .

Im not sure where your friend will be, but I recommend that she goes to Akihabara to source out TFs. She might want to do some research as to what shops sell TFs because not all toy shops do.
As with the FE vehicon, they are gold here too. Its not impossible to find one out here but they are pretty scarce now along with every other FE.
AMs are the only figures in REGULAR stock right now along with some United and older DOTM figures. (AM Soundwave and Terracon Cliff come out this Saturday)
Revoltech Prime is available but Bee doesnt come out till next month.

Im sure other members who also live in Japan will be happy to share their advice.

Thanks froggy124, that's good advice. I haven't gotten specifics of where she will be going, only know Tokyo. I guess I'll have to do some research for her since like I said, I don't want her to be hunting too hard. What are AMs going for there?

What are they called? I was just going to send her links to the pages on TFSource of BBTS of the stuff she should look for. She knows nothing about Transformers. Hopefully it's enough

 

about 2000 yen give or take for a deluxe and no more than 4000 for a voyager, although the only voyager out atm is optimus.
To help with your research here are a list of shops I go to regularly, (too often)

- The Yellow Submarine Building (near Akihabara station)
- Mandarake (great place for a rare find, but a little over priced)
- Liberty (they have many shops spread out around Akihabara but there only about 3 that stock TFs. I usaully go to these three shops because they can be cheaper than retail and you might find a rare TF if youre lucky!)

If you want AMs then go to Yodobashi Camera, again in Akihabara station. They are always stock full of AMs.

then have her mail some stuff and just sit back and wait for it to get delivered....you might have to pony up the $$$ but it would allow you to acquire more stuff that way.
