I got these guys yesterday and thanks to a night with poor sleep, woke up extra early and painted them up...properly I guess you can say. I used a mix of the G1 cartoon images and my own spin on the color scheme. They are great little guys, tons of articulation, and about 1.75" tall (my eyes still hurt from the tiny details)

Since these are sort of a "self portait" and the fact they are my creation, I'm taking the liberty of calling the blue guy by his rightful name : Rumble.

More photos can also be seen here:

Alt mode will be later this week.

These are great. How is the quality? (I ask because I can't really watch videos while at work).

I'd love a set of these but I'm going to wait for the inevitable repaints :)  Good job though, F_R!

the quality is not great/decent, a challenge for sure for anyone who plans to repaint them (I HIGHLY suggest not taking these apart, a ball joint snapped off a foot, the peg holding the ball is about 1/16" thick and snapped off easily)

They (perfect effect) did a real shit job with their mold pressure, you'll notice out of box that there are TONS of edges and plastic build up where the molds met, as well as some molds possibly misaligned (you can notice on the forearms or lower legs, the "front" half of the mold is not perfectly matched with the back) Though, they are small, so that might have a lot to do with it.

    Enamels ;)

Well one of my questions has been answered. I've wondered for a while now which one you called Rumble. I'm on the same page buddy

Good job on these. As you know by now I'm more a fan of the solid stock customs but as you said these are yours not mine. I liked you're review too. Could polish it up a bit but at least there wasn't any annoying or hard to watch/listen to parts. That's too bad the quality of the figures aren't great. I'm sure that won't stop people from buying these when they release them in their proper colors. As you can see in my sig I already have a set that I'm perfectly happy with

Now those are very cool. I seen the video and the gun mode isn't too bad maybe Soundwave could be a Targetmaster, but still very awesome colors, F_R.

I picked these guys up for the very same reason.
This is the way they should have been released.

Beautiful work, F_R - I get the impression that any repaints they decide to release won't look anywhere near as impressive. :thumb

If I listen very carefully, I can hear the faint sound of a can of worms being opened... :p

The first thing I thought when I saw the thread listings was "wow, he didn't sleep last night now did he" Funny that's the first thing you addressed in your post...LOL.

I do my best work with insomnia as my co-pilot too :)

    Look great!

Challenge for repainting because you can't disassemble and you need to clean up the mold work?... or because the plastic is lesser quality and they are so small?

I like to paint my figures in as many parts as possible. These, you can, but shouldn't take apart.
