Great article. I've been a collector since 1984, and I'm amazed to learn how much I still don't know about this hobby. I just recently discovered some of your other articles and have thoroughly enjoyed them. In particular, I LOVED your pictorial discussions pertaining to the G2 mock-ups of Mirage, Ramjet and Sideswipe. Do you have other ultra-rare pieces from G2 that you've covered?

Hey Maz! I should be able confirm for you that the yellow on the insecticons is different than on the US originals. My first insecticon set I got in France. Ten or so years ago when I started to collect more and more TFs I set out to replace my old beaten up insects and soon discovered that not only are the chests on my french bought insects orange. There are also slight mold variations. The biggest example would be the stinger on bombshell which has a rounded out piece so that it can fit snugly on his head. I pointed this out to a couple of people but I got no response back then. Glad I have proof now I have four sets of insecticons in my collection now. I'm not sure if my originals are still in there. They were pretty beaten up after my childhood! I will make sure to check it out in the morning and if I still have them to shoot you some pics. Vey nice article! iDD

So I did find the orange shield for Kickback but I seem to have gotten rid of the Bombshell and Shrapnell Sorry man. I wish I could've gotten you those pics! iDD
