Does anyone else find it difficult or irritating trying to free their TF figures from their prison-like packages? Specifically Voyager and Leader class figures? I remember Animated Blitzwing was irritating as heck to free from his packaging.

I'm not sure if this will show for everyone, but Amazon seems to have started to work with manufacturers to start shipping their goods with less (and easier to open) packaging. Makes pretty good sense for a place like Amazon since they don't have to worry too much about theft or anything like that.

No issues here. I've got a Leatherman Micro on my keychain. Knife and mini scissors make short work of tape and twist ties. :D

I'd like to see less packaging used on TFs. In the meantime, a keyring-sized Stanley knife and some nailclippers make short work of most packaging.

I have no problem with twisties because they hold the toy in place during shipping and shelf time, reducing the chances of damage and paint scuffs. QC issues being what they are lately, every little bit helps.

I like how Takara-Tomy in Japan uses two pieces of plastic to hold the figures in place. NO twist ties and it works fine.

However, I can see the need for them with supreme-sized figures.

Nail clippers really are the way to deal with twist ties, for what it's worth.

Not an issue here, although it helps that I grew up untwisting these things, so I got used to it pretty early. Realistically it could be a whole lot worse than it is. That and it makes getting the transformer out of the packaging that much more satisfying in the end.

I actually think they have gotten better about the packing. They have started using less twist ties imo. I remember a getting figures with tons of ties wrapped around them. The big ties dont bother me, though when they use the tiny ones I can't even get a grip....those suck.

Nail clippers eh? What a novel idea! I'll try that the next chance I get. I agree with ya Peanut, having to untie those smaller twisty ties is a big pain in the butt.

Personally, I'd rather save a few bucks (if it comes to it,) a lot of garbage, and a minor amount of inconvenience, and purchase transformers in mailaway style brown boxes.

After all, all I care about is the toy inside, not the habitually bent cardbacks (whose art doesn't even match the toy inside) and a bubble which I have to saw through to get to the toy anyways. Just including a botcon-baggied style figure with a set of instructions and a Japanese-style "Tech Spec/Bio" card would be PERFECT for me.

Ditto here, though I really hate that occasional twist-tie that runs under or through a part in a mostly inaccessible way.

yeah, that'd be cool...but remember, you can recycle the bubbles and the cardbacks from most TF purchases...

I don't remove them, I keep them in their prison. And if they've been set free, I make them a new jail cell and incarcerate them all over again.

Movie Voyager boxes suck in my opinion, as it took FOREVER to get Incinerator out for some reason. Deluxes suck, too, but that's because I keep the boxes to balance value and act as a container if the figures ever need to go into long-term storage for me.

I'm not a MSIB collector, so have no problems taking them out of the packaging. I, however, save most boxes, and have a closet full of them in my apartment.

Yeah, I've used nail clippers for years now. It makes Twist ties barely noticable now.
