Yeah, It is weird hearing him be called "unknown." That's pretty fucking awesome, he does so much stuff, really, it's not surprising when you think about it.

Agreed - it does sound weird reading "unknown" and "Frank Welker" in the same sentence.

Never mind that I would argue that all this really demonstrates is that he's very prolific as an actor - I'll bet he's making a fraction of what the big box office draws are.

This is great! It's nice to see Mr Welker getting a bit of recognition, since so much of his work is behind the scenes. Outside of the acting profession, only communities like ours really know who he is and how much he's done.

If only he would come to Botcon, where we could give him the fan worship he deserves.

It's a shame that even the most famous of voice actors are considered "unknowns". I'm glad our man Mr. Welker is getting some recognition!

    You go, Mr. Welker!

Part of his success, gotta say, is his ability to do animals and non-human growly, nasty voices. It's pretty stellar, and hard to match with the more modern crop of VAs.

I loved him as Additional Voice in The Lion King.

Pretty cool - I'm honestly not surprised given how many awesome and successful movies he's been a part of.

I'm glad he is getting some recognition for his great work and stepping out of the 'unknown' zone. My wife and I have a game when we watch anything animated... find Welker's name in the credits. :)

His career earnings are the box office equivalent of a zerg rush. Every role might not be iconic, he might not get a lot of a-list attention like some stars, but holy hell is his body of work massive, and jam-packed with recognizable and successful roles.
