considering the man's talents, I would like to think that if there's anyone qualified to change their voice to fit the moment, he'd be one of 'em.

Its going to be nice to hear frank and peter doing the voices that they so well deserve...
But i honestly wouldnt have changed my opinion on the movie if chalk and kaye did prime and megs either... i grew up in the 80's and loved both series.... so please dont bash me for saying i'm happy either way

 

Good job for Welker if the rumors are true.

But seriously, who gives a crap? The movie's still going to suck. Hahahaha....no, I'll go see it, but it's even worse than the X-Men in staying true to the original source material. Some of the changes they make aren't even necessary, but whatever. Too late now. The train has already derailed.

Ok...I'd of course love hearing Welker as old school cartoon Megs days...but if that whole "Hugo Weaving" shit is real?

Weaving has been one of my fave actors for YEARS now (pre-Matrix and all) and him voicing Megs would be no less than pure AWESOMENESS.

BUT UNTIL I GET PROPER RELIABLE NEWS I WILL NOT GET MY HOPES UP FOR ANYTHING.

If this were a G1-based movie, like I've wanted all along, I would love to have Welker on board. But as it stands now, I don't care one bit. Virtually nothing else about this movie is G1, so why should the voice actor be? If anything, it makes more sense to *not* use Welker.

Awesome! Finally, something I can at least relate to. If its not going to be G1, at least this making up for some of it.

 

This movie is going to frigin RULE!!!! I cant wait either way, to see this like 10 times! 2 to 3 at the theater & definitely one of those being opening night, and once a month for 6 months once out on dvd. PLUS not to mention all the sick toys that are gonna be out too!!

Shit, Its going to be a good year for tramnsformers. Im just glad to see that they're still making Tfs let ALONE A 300 MILLION DOLLAR MOVIE!!

 

After hearing Welker's special message to fans, on Allspark, his G1 voice makes Megatron sound like an old dude whos waiting to die. I really hope he does a different take that does sound like the leader of an robotic alien army bent on destroying this little planet of ours.

 

Awesome. It'll be interesting to hear him speak in the new outfit.

 

Nice! I hope they use the same filter that got used on the series, and when he used that voice on Megas XLR. Considering the demonic grin this new Megs looks like he has, I think the original voice would be more fitting than it was for G1 Megs.
