And a million airbrushed vans mourn their loss.

But seriously, the guy basically invented a genre along with Valejo, for better or worse, and say what you will about the subject matter, but he was certainly a talented artist.

Frank, Boris and Julie. THE three artists who shaped fantasy art as we know it. Studied Frank's stuff in both high school and college. Had the pleasure of attending a lecture he gave nearly 12 years ago. Really sad day.

This is seriously depressing. Frazetta is who inspired me to become an artist. It makes me even more bummed that I canceled my trip to his museum 5 years ago. I have 9 of his official replica molded paintings hanging in my house. Here's 3 of them.

When my figure painting teacher told us we had to paint a copy of the work of a master, I told him a was doing Frazetta. He said "you can't Frazetta isn't a master." I said "Correct, he's a God" and painted them anyway. I got an A for my two unfinished paintings.

I guess it's a deja vu, as I could've sworn that I had read that he died last year or thereabouts.

Anyway, it's still sad to lose a master artist.

One of my favorites. :(  And to think I was introduced to his work by Molly Hatchet album covers.

Frazetta's stuff on Conan really helped me visualise stuff in R.E Howards stories, making them more vibrant in my minds eye.

His art was Legend, RIP. :(
