This is a load of bullsh!t. I know this had already been stated but Fox is just mad because they don't have anything that looks nearly as good as Watchmen coming out next year so they want to rain on Warner Bros Parade

Also, why the hell did Fox not say something sooner like, I don't know, WHEN THE PROJECT WAS ANNOUNCED!!!

Finally, If something does happen, and the film is not released, I am totally willing to boycott any and all Fox movies coming out next year.

Just on a personal note the only movies I am really psyched for next year are Star Trek and Transformers 2. I may see Watchmen if/when it comes out but I won't cry if something does happen. I'll just be REALLY annoyed.

Because this way they'll have made Warner Brothers spend millions of dollars with no way to recoup it.

And if you want to list Fox's stupid programming decisions, don't forget the fact that King of the Hill is still on the air.

Indeed. It's a pretty dick move. Although, if Fox does succeed in killing Watchmen, I wonder if WB could countersuit for Fox not bringing the issue up sooner.

One of my friends made that point when we were talking about this yesterday. WB does have a good argument in the fact that Fox didn't mention anything about this until a few months ago - it's not like the movie was a secret or anything. Apparently there's something like this in patent law.

He also mentioned that Fox's "cancel the movie" is probably just a bluff. They'll likely accept a settlement, but they want to start off by calling for the movie to be cancelled so it looks like they're really tough.

The legal answer is Watchmen is fucked.

WB would have probably gotten away with copyright infringement if the anticipation hadn't taken off around the time it previewed on Dark Knight. But now that WB stands to make a lot of money for the movie, Fox is going to block it as their intellectual property and, in legal terms, their financial property.

Dick move? Yes. But don't scream at Fox for not letting you get to watch your movie. Blame WB for continuing to be a joke of a company in terms of movie-making (how long did "Superman Returns" take before it became a reality? All the re-writes for the last, oh, DECADE?).

Besides, other than Batman, DC Comics/WB has nothing that they can bank on. They got lucky with a SUCCESSFUL Batman movie in the sequel (the prequel was good, but not as good as they wanted). But now they can never top their own movie, and Batman 3, or whatever they'll call it, will not hit the same spikes that the Spider-Man movies did.

It gets more rediculous now. I looks like its now between 4 studios and they may not get to court till next April or June.

The legal battle is going to kill this movie, even if it is released.

I don't know. Might play out like TDK. Something negative(Heath's death) equals something postive(HOOGE hype). Not that his death was a equal exchange or w/e.

FOX saw how awesome the trailer is, and wanted a piece of the action. Screw you, FOX! I'll never forgive you for axing Boston Public.
