Simplified action figures aimed at a younger audience. Simplified, quicker transformations with some form of action attack.

Can't wait for that Hardtop! The deco is lovely. I find it funny that they left "Cyber Planet Key" on the description when the keyitself says S7 on it, lol

I think the only scout worth getting is Hardtop. The rest blow IMO. God it looks like Jazz has no paint apps on him...

    Ill still get them but....

Its upsetting that they use old molds and call them movie characters. What if they choose to use those names in the sequels and they come up with new bodies for them?

Then they just disregard the existing toy line because it's not part of the official movie-verse story.

Then they'll use those names. TFs change bodies often enough, and with these throw-away exclusive toy characters, their names don't really matter.

Besides, its likely the surviving TFs from the actual movie will probably get new bodies in the sequels, merely so Hasbro can flog new toys.

Some of them are quite detailed and complicated, FAB Ironhide, for instance.

Hardtop and Signal Flare's robot modes look so 'standard' and uninspired compared to the figures that appear in the movie. They could use a little more random craziness to them, like claws or something. Yes, the movie figs have grown on me. -.-'

They should have gone in the direction that Hard Top had imbedded himself with SS, learning secrets regarding 'Megaman' and the 'Cube' from high ranking human officers unwittingly riding in him.

Of course, the vendetta thing works too.

Those are the best decos I've seen from those molds, but they seem quite out of place in the movie line.

Production cost probably. From the look of it, they'd have to remold either of the Cybertron Planet Cyber Keys to get the one on the back of Hardtop's packaging. As it is, using the Planet X Key costs nothing since the Decepticon logo's molded on the back side of it and doesn't show in the least when a solid plastic color is used. Kinda like what they did with the Cyber Key for last year's BotCon figures.
