    That kind of scene is use in a lot of anime, so I don't think G Gundam alone was the inspiration for it. Armada, Energon and Cybertron were all Japaneses series that were brought over and dubbed into English

    Yup.

    Though, I personally find it surprising to hear that someone admits to having watched G Gundam... :lol

    I watched G Gundam and liked it.

    What? I wasn't even 10 yet, it was Toonami's Golden Age, and G Gundam was the first Gundam cartoon I knew of. That's probably why I still have that Noble Gundam action figure kicking around in my room, I don't know why I got it.

    Hey, G Gundam was awesome. It's one of the only Gundam shows that doesn't redo the same basic "Earth vs. Space" plot or the "boy wanders into Gundam and becomes invincible killing machine" plot. I found it to be a refreshing change and fun as hell.

    And who can hate a series that has a windmill Gundam?

    G Gundam is my favorite Gundam series, and I HATE Gundam Wing, which everyone apparently loves.

    I always thought "G Gundam" sounded pointlessly redundant.

    It's like "C is for Cookie", only not as tasty.

    It also made me wonder if maybe I missed the Gundam series A through F.

    Brave Command Dagwon came out a full year after G Gundam finished its run so thats highly unlikely. The only real similarity is that they are both robots and ninjas...

    Stupidly the american version chooses to change God Gundam's name to Burning Gundam which means 'G Gundam' has no meaning...

    I have watched and liked G Gundam, Although to this day I consider it to be one big global stereotype through the eyes of its Japanese writers. I mean Football player/boxer= USA?!?, Walking windmill= Netherlands?!?, I mean Iceland Gundam was a freaking Viking! complete with boat. The US translators even had to change some names to cut down on the Stereotypes see..

    God Gundam => Burning Gundam
    Scud Gundam => Desert Gundam
    Tequila Gundam => Spike Gundam
    Lumber Gundam => Grizzly Gundam
    John Bull Gundam => Royal Gundam
    Minaret Gundam => Scythe Gundam
    Gundam Spiegel => Shadow Gundam
    Nether Gundam => Hurricane Gundam
    Matador Gundam => Toro Gundam

    They even named their own country's Gundam God! lol

    I wouldn't say they changed it to cut down on Stereotype. Just Imagine what would happen if something on a cartoon show was called God Gundam or God anything. The protests would be crazy.
    Tequila Gundam, similar thing, the idea of name a mecha after an alcoholic drink just wouldn't fly with some US parents
