I was wondering to know, is Hasbro/Takara or the K.O company’s are going to make/release a reissue of Fortress Maximus?
Because they did release a recolor version of it in 2000 in the Japanese car robots line witch they named Brave Maximus so they must can do so, ???

I'm sure that mane will buy one (or more), hope you have rumors/opinions in this matter,

There could be a K.O. I imagine it being expensive too, if it was made the size of the original G1. There is a 8 inch KO I believe.

actually, with renewed interest in encore, I can see this happening. but it'd have to be an event type thing, say 25th anniversary of TFs or something.

Our best bet is Encore reissues... with Omega Supreme confirmed who knows what or who's next? There's Shockwave, Skyfire/Jetfire, Dinobots! and FortMax!

I'd totally buy one. Fort Max is like my holy grail.

Best thing is, an Encore reissue would probably come with the MASTAAAA SOOODOOO too.

It would be great to see this happen but like KA mentioned, they would probably try to release around a big event like maybe a Botcon or the release of the next movie so that the interest would be there and it would sell better but then again i don't think it would have any problem selling i'm just afraid they would charge e-bay prices for one of these

Any form of con exclusiveness would result in murderous rage. :sly:

Maybe not make it a con exclusive but just have the release at one of the 'cons and then mass release afterwards

Hasbro can't release it in any form. Safety laws prohibit it, because Maximus cannot pass the six foot drop test. He shatters into too many jagged pieces to be safe. This would also include any convention release. A reissue would have to come from Japan.

Given how poorly Maximus sold the last time he was released (as Brave Maximus in Car Robots) any reissue would probably be a matter of serious thought among Takara. Apparently, Brave sold so badly that they were giving overstock away as a lucky draw in Robot Masters, and during RiD, Hasbro would have sold the overstock as Fortress Maximus but in the Japanese boxes etc, if not for the Drop Test. I think the main issue is with the cost that the thing has to be sold at to make it profitable for Takara. Perhaps a more G1 accurate reissue in the Encore series would sell better, but I still have my doubts that Takara-Tomy would attempt it.

    It would be nice, though.

Im pretty sure they were going to at one point, but it failed the safety standards (drop test got it I believe) and was abandoned. That may just be rumours though.

EDIT: Dang, Sol beat me to it

Makes you wonder if they would reengineer a new version for Universe/Classics 2.0, perhaps in the deluxe size range ;)

    I'd much rather see something to display next to Primus. ^^;

    ^What he said.

Takara are quite clearly prepared to reissue larger TFs. They *could* be testing the waters for reissuing the largest one of the lot.

I agree, I badly want a FortMax since my mom tossed mine when she cleaned out the basement many years ago.

Man, another chance for me to get a Fort Max? That would be awesome! But like Sol said, it's highly unlikely the states would make it due to the safety laws. Now it'll make sense if a reissue would target more serious collectors of a certain age bracket, say T-M. Companies like Takara/Tomy shouldn't expect
younger kids to know how to handle a toy like Fort Max because of his size & weight.

It's dubious to be sure, and it would never be released in the US, but I suppose it could still happen.

Personally, I'd rather see a release of Grand Maximus, just because of all the "extras" he came with, like the Pretender Shell.

I'm quite glad that I got a CR Brave Maximus when they came out, and then got the properly colored repro guns for him a few years later. He's by far my favorite color scheme of the three Maximi, but I've heard various stories about how poorly he sold, including being part of Robot Masters and Kiss Play to get rid of overstock.
