They can do a re-issue if they want, but I won't buy it. I still have my original Fort Max and he's in great shape.

The only reason I would want an reissue of fort max is to get an original for much cheaper price :p

The figures that need to be reissued are
    1. ones that were never offered too U.S. fans
    2. ones that were made with faulty plastics and could benefit from modern plastic
    3. ones that are rare

Black Zarak, Dino Cassettes, Overlord, and Victory Leo all have my vote.

If there was to be a re-issue/encore Max, I'd rather it be Grand Maximus, that way at least with the high price, you'd get it all.

I'd love the opportunity to buy an Encore Fort Max. I know that buying it would help finance more reissues, hopefully of the kind Golden Age is talking about. Hell, I'd buy multiples. You know they'd appreciate. :)

It's really not the same situation at all. The Combaticon molds were used fairly recently in the U.S., and sold for a much cheaper price. Not to mention, Fort Max is somewhat larger than Bruticus.

Takara will most likely not take that risk again anytime soon after the absolute sales disaster of the Brave Maximus release. Brave Maximus was a shelf warmer of EPIC proportions putting it mildly. Takara ended up GIVING away a lot of the extra stock as lucky draws if memory serves.

In my opinion, it's just NOT going to happen.

As much as I'd like to have a Fort Max reissue, I'm more jonesing for a Trypticon reissue.

    WHAT?

    noooooooo...

these things were hard as hell to come by, and FLEW off ebay as soon at they were listed. even the sonoking versions flew of shelves. i remember some auctions going up over $500 for the CR version, and i pre-ordered my sonoking version months before because of the issues finding a CR version for over a year

TAKARA did have a lucky draw, but was limited, and DID include all the accesories grand max came with, but shelf warm?? i'm not to sure of that.

If Takara/Tomy does it (because Hasbro can't due to drop test issues) I will buy it in a heartbeat. However, I doubt that it will happen.

Brave Max was in no way a shelf warmer. He didn't sell like a $7.77 deluxe, but nobody with half an eye open in 2000 expected that to be the case.

I have the RID version... and it's just big. About as impressive as Metroplex... maybe even a little less... or about the same.

I would prefer a 25th Universe version. Retool it, add a bunch of cool stuff to it.

As it is... it's just big blocks of plastic with big guns. :D

    Classics Fortress Maximus.

Seriously, why hasn't Hasbro made a Supreme Class, original molded toy of Fortress Maximus? They'd make a lot from the collectors and retro fans.

Indeed. Now we have MiniCons and Legends class figures Fort Max could be downsized to fit those better for city mode and have better articulation and features. And with Universe having a Targetmaster in the form of Cyclonus, Fort Max could be the first new Headmaster for the line.
I still have my G1 Fort Max, but a proper redo of him with today's toy technology would open my wallet in doublequick time.

I'd love another shot at a reissue of Fort Max, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. But I also think it would be a good idea if Hasbro put out a new-mold version for Universe. I guess we'll have to wait until after ROTF.

Who knows? That movie could do well enough to fund something like a new Fort Max.

Those would all get my vote as well.

Would a Fort Max sell well in these troubled economic times? Have the previous Encore "big bots" sold well?

    Sorry for being a pestimist.

Huh? He's a double Headmaster AND a city with ramps, heli pad, compartments, elevator, hidden guns, etc. Perfect for Micromasters, Minibots, Legends, etc.

Metroplex is better scaled to below basic-scale, like minibots and scramble city vehicles. Fort Max was originally designed to scale up for compatibility with Autobot cars. Brave Max's box art shows the Autobot Brothers rolling down the ramps. Doesn't mean the Spychangers were incompatible though.
