I as just remembering something from a few years back. A friend of mine was having a fire in the woods and I was like woohoo fire! So I showed up and he was like oh im just burning old toys from my childhood and I remember looking into the fire and seeing a fortress maximus box in flames and melted peices along with other crap from his childhood. I wanted to punch him sooooo bad but he didnt know it was worth so much lol. It was painful watching it and kinda funny to see how angry he got after I told him after what he did. lol So in my case what would u have done? Ripped it from the fire and have a half burned box and melted toy or let it burn? lol anyway Does anyone else have any troubleing stories like this?

When I was smaller my brother and I had almost every g1 out there except for max ... I was 5 or 6 and my brother was 10 or 11... well we were a military family and we moved a lot. The last move we did my mom packed all our tf into a trashbag and threw them away. I never had realized how much I missed them till classic line came out....

I think after the initial shock of seeing that, I would've cracked him one.

    One question though...

Why burn the toys instead of giving them away to kids in need?

So is that calling me dumb for liking the beauty of the flickering flames and think its pretty awsome? Very mature of you to say that only dumb people like fire. Any way some people dont like taking used toys since alot of people are germaphobs especialy with letting there young children handle something from another person. I for one would not take used toys for my child.

I'm pretty sure that, when people say donate, they do not mean walk up to the next person and trying to give it to them.

Donate means giving it to the needy, in general. Not necessarily you, or someone who thinks like you. By your logic, Goodwills are complete wastes of time and space- it's all used stuff.

Friend: "You should donate that crate of cereal, instead of throwing it all away."

You: "Don't worry, I don't like that flavor. So, no use donating it because no one else will."

I'm sure you're a fairly capable human being, but it's just a fact of life. Dumb people like fire: YouTube - bonfire fail Like moths, they are.

wow. derailing for sure, back on topic.
it wouldve crushed me to see it in the flames but wouldve left it like you did, and definitely wouldve let him know how much it was worth, it might stop him in the future to check before he fires :)

This reminds me of a kid I went to elementary school with - he used to tell us that he smashed his transformers to bits with a hammer. Every time he'd hear us talking about whatever our latest favorite was, like Prime for example, he'd come up and say, "Oh I had Optimus Prime. I smashed him with a hammer." And then he'd flash a devilish smile. None of us believed him, but he always swore it was the truth.

Why not believable? Burning a box of old toys that you think is worthless. The general public doesn't know that an old brick of a robot toy is worth $$$. Especially if this happened before 2007, the 1st movie.

And as far as donating them, some charities don't like to take old toys because they have to clean them and it's up to the charity to confirm that they are legal under current safety laws. I believe Goodwill stop taking toys at the beginning of several years ago.

Here's something to consider: How hygienic do you think the workers in some asian factory are? Do you think they get time to wash their hands after using the toilet? Just because it comes sealed in plastic doesn't mean it's automatically safer than some old lot of eighties toys.
