Somewhere, my mother has a videotape of me as a 7 year old in 1985, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. In the background, I am witnessing this commercial for the first time (you can hear it and my reactions), and then I flip out and immediately run to her (she was filming the decoration set up for posterity) and exasperatingly try to describe to her the sheer awesomeness of what I have just seen.

    RIP indeed.

I remember how hard it was for my parents to get me any Transformers as a kid. He wasn't kidding.

    They were HOT!

RIP Alex. He was a very Warm Kind Fellow. I will always remember him for all of his different work.

I remember the commercial because my brother really wanted a TF for Christmas and mom couldn't really afford around Thanksgiving so she waited to the last minute and they were sold out.

My brother and I compromised so we could share Grimlock, I was willing to give up a toy for my brother so he/we can have Grimlock.

    But it didn't work out.

I had to watch the Commercial to see if it rang an bells. Nope. Weird, since I watched so much TV during the 80's. How did I end up missing this?!

I never watched Mr. Karras play football, but he is most remembered to me as Mongo. I watched "Webster" when it aired, and he played a good father character in that show...but when you played a character like Mongo (who punches out a Horse), that one always wins. lol

    RIP Mongo. :(
