^No luck with 3* shards -- I got a bunch from last arena (finished top 10%) but to dedicate that much time to do that over and over again each arena is tough if not over a weekend

As for Act 1 -- hence the crux of my problem, the 2* bots I have are not strong enough to 100% it for the free crystal and I am out of ORE to level them up, so grinding my way to do that which takes longer than if I had luck and pulled a 3 or 4 star bot early like some people have.

I do, again, not enough ORE to level him up -- he's stuck at 18/20 rank 2

Sounds like you are in the lucky bunch with free crystals

 

Make sure you are raiding and spending the currency on ore that helps as well.

 

Of course..........on the flip side, when I have my 3 best bots doing alliance quests or story mode, I can't use them to raid which is a real bummer.

I wish bots didn't get tied up like they do, really limits what you do, especially when ORE is so scarce to level up all bots equally haha

 

One thing that makes no sense to me and makes me mad are the shields for your base. Its tough enough getting enough medals to unlock new items in the store when getting attacked. I understand a shield is to help against that but its stupid that the shield will be lost if you choose to raid. To me that defeats the point. You should be able to raid and not loose the shield.

 

Maybe your luck will increase with this bit of news

 

^^^Only down side to that is loosing players for arena matches.

 

In the long run you need to or don't get your forge level leveled up.

 

I don't think I still understand the forging.

 

With the info from 411 bot (really liking that LINE app)

Forging increases the forge level of a bot by using a bot from a lower tier. Forging can only be done with bots 2* and up. Forge level increases a bots Health and Attack which determine the bots Rating. It has no effects on Abilities or Signature Abilities.
Forge level goes from 0-75 initially, levels 76-100 are unlocked by forging the same bot from one tier lower. Example Forging a 2* Bumblebee to a 3* Bumblebee.

The amount of experience given is determined by the Tier, Rank and Level of a bot that is being used to forge, gold and ore are also given when a bot is forged.
Forge XP value
1* New 67 XP Max 210 XP
2* New xx XP Max xx XP
3* New xx XP Max xx XP
Forge XP will transfer from one bot to the next. A 3* bot that has a forge level of 17 that is used to forge into a 4* would gain 5 levels beyond what an unforged 3* would give.

 

That's kind of what I figured. So does it matter who you forge with? Like is it better to do a bb with a lower tier bb or does it matter as long as it's a lower tier bot?

 

Until lv 75 doesn't matter if it's fully ranked up or not, the same bot/mod or not only need to be a tier lower.
Bots can only forge bots and mods can only forge mods.
After lv 75 it needs to be the character who forges his own lower tier vs.

 

Just upgraded my Arcee to two stars!  

 

So it's after 6pm pst and the new forge benefit isn't working.

 

The one point I still like about Earth Wars is that after your base gets raided, you get an automatic 6 hour shield. That keeps you from getting completely slaughtered while you sleep. I wish this game would implement something similar.

And yeah, not being able to raid without erasing your shield is complete bs.

 

It really hit me yesterday just how ridiculous this game is. I like the actual fighting, but it's like a cookie wrapped in two or three layers of plastic wrap. Out of the like... 8 currencies in the game, I need to actively grind 3 of them. How do I grind the three of them? Different play modes. How different are the play modes? Not really.

I'm doing almost the exact same thing to make a counter tick upwards so I can increase the counter on each bot so I can then take that bot to a different mode with higher numbers in order to increase a different counter....

 

After I read this I'm more confused now about forging and I still don't see the benefits of it.

 

More health and attack = stronger bot.
But i admit really want to see a bot who has a high forge level to see this.
With mods it increases their ratings so it will be the same for bots in time (when it's leveled up enough)

 

Me, neither. Especially at this early stage of the game when there are so few characters available, and you need as many as you can get for the arenas. Maybe later.

 

I have not done any Forging myself because I'm still mainly using 2 Star bots (and I like having all my bots for Arenas), but from what I understand, think of Forging as "extra leveling" or "over-leveling" for your 2, 3, and 4 Star bots.

Currently your max as a 2 Star bot is 30/30 Rank 3, right? Well, with Forging, you can go beyond that limit and those stats for your best/favorite characters. And apparently if you Forge a 2 Star bot to max, then use him to Forge a 3 Star bot (same character), they get even more strength and HP. Then if you Forge that guy to max and use him to Forge your 4 Star version of the same character, you'll have a super-powerful bot to destroy your opponents.

 

I finally have something worth bragging about in the game!!! I just pulled a RELIC from the Alliance Crystal  

I can't tell if it's actually useful or not, but I have it now and it's not a duplicate Arcee or Bumblebee, LOL
