Not sure if this counts as "news", but at least we get a couple of new stock photos and a confirmation for the line-up of Legion Class wave 2 (which was already evident from the in-packaging stock photos but never explicitly confirmed before).

As far as I can tell, Forbidden Planet is the first online store to explicity list all wave 2 Legion Class, Deluxe Class and Voyager Class figures. There are also previously unseen robot and alternate mode stock photos for Legion Drift, Crosshairs and Megatron, larger robot and alternate mode stock photos of Voyager Hound than the ones previously available at various Eastern European online retailers, and a previously unseen official in-packaging stock photo of Voyager Hound. (In-packaging stock photos of Drift, Squeeks, Slug and Steelbane have become available in other places earlier this week, with the largest versions found at Amazon.) All the stock photos are collected in this thread.

 

So, 15th May is the date for the retailers?

 

Update: ToyWiz lists the wave 2 1-Step Turbo Changers, confirming the line-up there as well:

FYI, the news post on the front page lists Steelbane as a voyager. He's a deluxe

 

Steelbane taking a page from the Red Dragon Thunderzord with that transformation. Looking forward to grabbing one on clearance at some point.

 

Amazon.com has 1st May on their listings (though that may be third party sellers) so who knows.

 

Steelbane never ceases to make moist.

 

I'll wait until I can see a full 360° view before passing judgment.

 

Man I am so split on Steelbane. Love the bot mode but that wyvern mode is...egh.

 

The news post is missing the Voyager Megs pics. Which, BTW, I'm super excited for. The jet mode is mistransformed but it wouldn't be Hasbro stock photography if it wasn't. This line is such a huge improvement over AOE. Hopefully they trickle out before May because I can't wait for Megs.

The legions are cool but man, that's not even close to a corvette. Guess the licensing in that scale is with another company. (Probably Hotwheels). Megatron is the best of them, but then all of his figures for TLK are pretty great.

 

Of all of those, he is the most desirable.

 

I may end up breaking down for the leader class in this case. None of the other class figures seem to be able to know what to do with his limbs...resulting in either hiding his arms or legs under the wings which just look meh.

 

Funny thing, 1-Step Changer Berserker has better paint applications than his Deluxe counterpart.

 

I'm sure it's been pointed out by now, but I think it's interesting that the new Drift transforms backwards from the AoE toy. Which explains the faux chest as well. While I think it's a lazy solution, I at least have to admire Hasbro for their ingenuity on that one.
