See, that title's a pun. You'll see why in a minute. Here's the thing, I have a friend at work and she's a good chum. She also seems to attract the attentions of various fellows like ants to honey. She's an utter hopeless flirt. I however, am not attracted to her that way. I'm in a relationship and we share a strictly platonic relationship. I don't need that kind of complication. We were talking about that today; seems each day she has some new development in her complicated love life and how of all the boys she knows I don't persue her or even have an interest in her beyond friendship. It's also her birthday, so on a lark, I wrote her a poem. It's kinda tongue in cheek. Since my Transformers inspired version of the song 'Hey There, Delilah' went over so well with some of you earlier this week, I thought I'd post it here. Enjoy! I won't succumb to juicy wiles Should they come at me from miles Or from just across my desk Involving regions of the chest You can show a little leg You can try and make me beg But I'm immune to all seduction There's been significant reduction In chatting up and turning on All temptation's up and gone Flagrant flirts or fuss or flatter Or blunt advances, doesn't matter A naughty smile, a hungry stare They won't get you anywhere With me, but maybe other boys Are weaker to your sexy ploys I'm good at playing hard to get Even if your t-shirt's wet I have my male will, no fear Say, is it getting hot in here?
