From the depths of webarchive.org! February 2, 1999 TRANSFORMERS™ 15th ANNIVERSARY HIGHLIGHTED BY THE INTRODUCTION OF ANIMORPHS™ LINE http://web.archive.org/web/20000226161426/...news_feb99.html We've come a long way, baby. Plus, an interview with Hasbro in 1999. http://web.archive.org/web/20000305085255/...rview_21699.htm I do wonder who Jerry, Brian, Andy, Steve and Tim were.
Nice find! Thank Heaven we've come along way since then. The 20th anniversery was 50 times better than that and I think the 25th will be too. So much good stuff to choose from now! I love me some reissues, Classics, & Masterpieces!
The 20th Anniversary was marred by the breakup of Dreamwave and the problems surrounding the convention, though. And the line on the shelves at the time - Energon - was notorious for having a few toys that were overshipped and refused to budge from shelves stopping virtually all of that size class from breaking through to retail. The last assortments (Galvatron, Beachcomber, etc) were painfully hard to find.
