I know I already posted a thread about my IMAX theater not having TF3 IMAX 3D tickets.

Anyway, so now that they announced the film will premiere on 6/28 at 9:00 PM in 3D and IMAX 3D, I'm not sure if my theater is even going to have IMAX 3D tickets.
So the question is: Who/what do we blame?

There are these to blame in my opinion:
    -Change of release date
    -Cars 2
    -Both

Which one do you guys blame, or do you not care?

My theater did the same thing. I even called this morning and spoke to someone. I asked them if they were going to be releaseing Transformers 3 in IMAX for the opening showings and the guy told me that he was actually just about to put them up for sale.

I asked when they will be up on fandango and he told me later today or at midnight. Well, needless to say, I just checked fandango and what was just added you may ask? Cars 2 in IMAX 3D for the 28th. On the only IMAX screen for that theater. So much for that 9PM showing in IMAX 3D.

It's such crap. I f******* hate disney and their cars 2 bullshit.

i heard rumors that Disney had a deal with several theaters that their movies are to come first before any other studio. Some even up to two weeks for IMAX screens. I don't know how this has happened, but it would be a combination of the theater complying to such a contract, and Disney playing monopoly games.

Somebody needs to take a chill pill, it's just a movie.

In other news. This is why I always avoid IMAX. Traditional movie screens so so much better. Especially if you go to the right one like me.

As long as you enjoy it, does the price really matter? Besides, when you die, you can't take it with you. :p

I blame soundwave for infiltrating the computer networks.

Only a little higher than normal. Our IMAX tickets are about $15 for an adult, I believe. At least you have your tickets.

I know. It's just over the past 10 years, how much movie ticket prices have increased is funny. Remember when a regular movie experience cost 10 dollars for 2 tickets. Those were the days.

If this rumor you speak of is true, then I'm screwed. Harry Potter comes on 7/15, which is on the second full week of July.

There are 2 other IMAX theaters I can go to: The Navy Pier IMAX in Chicago and the one I don't remember in Indianapolis.
I know I'm going to the Navy Pier IMAX, so at least they were smart, but I wanted to see it at my IMAX theater which is 10 min. away from my house.

Somebody on another forum I go to has reported such a thing. His theater is flat out refusing to show Transformers 3 in IMAX, and only Cars 2and Harry Potter.

Don't Blame The Theaters, We Like Money After All

It's not the theaters fault, trust me, I'm sure their entire staff is just as pissed as ours is about the issue. When it comes to IMAX, they draw the line when it comes to what happens in their theaters. I'm sure this is a settlement between IMAX, Paramount, and Disney and what it comes down to is that some IMAX screens will get TF3 and some will get Cars 2.

As for how this couldn't be resolved with Disney getting the morning showings and Paramount getting the night, I don't know. But I have to imagine IMAX, being in the business of making money, has certain stipulations that may still allow a full IMAX release if Cars 2 doesn't meet numbers opening weekend.

It's in one of the Carolina's I believe.

Wachovia IMAX Theatre at Marbles Kids Museum

The theater I am going to is the reverse though, it's not going to show Cars 2 and only Transformers until Harry Potter two weeks later.
