How the heck are you dealing with the doors? Are you pulling them apart... sticking soldering irons to the pins in the hinges? Just taking more time with the masking process?

Is there some kinda trick I'm just not seeing?

    Thanks for advice.

Didn't you already paint the one in your Sig? Did you have a hard time with it?
Sorry, I don't have the answer but I might need to know, someday. I was also wondering how you made the Blurr head in the other post (about Blurr). Nice job.

I also could not get the doors apart...not sure why.

I rmember holding a soldering iron to those pins for like an hour...literally. Nothing budged.

Ultimately I ended up masking the crap out of them.

I'm in the process of painting a Scion, and the front doors I just masked off. The back ones I'm gonna take the wheels off just so I can get the bumper piece off, and then just mask everything else to paint the doors.

Those pins with the large flat-heads are f'n impossible to get out. On Cyb Downshift I ended up just drilling them out to get his lower arms off.

I've done 3. I've used careful masking every time. I've never had a problem

Yeah, I just scrubbed the hell outta those painted on flames for Beastbox. I actually have some old painted panels, from Beastbox 1.0, and those were masked off as well. But for the one in my sig, laziness dictated that I was happy enough with the dark blue body panels and Prowler purple bot parts.

I just figured since I'm gonna be going with yellow for this next custom I'd really like to be able pull the assembly apart first to avoid having dark blue spots were the paint didn't quit reach in the shoots. Hmm...
