We have a Metallica/Megadeth music poll, and i know not everyone likes metal. So for those around during the eighties....I got a question. Who is better Duran Duran or Depeche Mode.

All I gotta say is, I'm hungry like the wolf.

Don't you mean the Rescue Shelter Boys? I know i left out alot of great groups, but who knows. Maybe after this thread takes it course someone can put the Pet Shop Boys up against Men at Work. It's kind of funny we've been listining to the Smiths all morning at work so far.

Depeche Mode if we're going by 80's only, I don't care for anything past Violator, Duran Duran would win if we have to take the 90's onward output into consideration. I love any musical act Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode when they were geeky and fun, Yazoo, The Assembly, Erasure) has been involved in, so I'm biased.

I'm wearing a Smiths shirt as I type this.

Anyway,I said Depeche Mode. Duran Duran was a good band for a short time, they floundered with their new line up,and are only recently trying to come back. Let's face it,they're more of a nolstalgia act these days, combined with gimmicky Justin Timberlake collaberations.

Whereas Depeche Mode has stayed really strong since their inception, and in fact is coming out with a highly anticipated new album this month. All their albums recieve critical acclaim as well as financial success (not that the latter is a great measuring stick of quality).

Duran Duran, every time. They even have a Bond theme under their belt.
