For any sword collectors, or those who would love to collect them but cannot for one of many reasons, come here and share what knowledge you have, where you go to buy them. Tell us what your opinions are on what blades uyou have, or ones you wish you did. anything from a purely decorative kit rae sword to a high carbon steel lowlander great sword is welcome here.

Excaber is a giant piece of wood that a lady in a lake throws at you so you can smite your scottish enemies.

I thought it was called Excalibur? I stopped collecting swords, and knives awhile back. I just lost interest in them, though I used to love the dragon dagger ones(blade is the tail, and handle is the body of the dragon). I also had to give up the hobby because I got a gnarly gash on my arm about eight years ago, I never felt pain though, which was weird considering how deep it was.

I have a few swords, mostly movie knock offs because they're cheaper:

    - Gandalf's Glamdring
    - Aragorn's Ranger sword and scabbard with cooking knife
    - Frodo's Sting
    - Duncan MacLeod's sword from Highlander: The Series
    - a couple of pirate cutlasses

I also have an officially licensed Anduril sword and scabbard hanging on the wall next to an Excalibur. I doubt I'll buy any more as I have no room to display them and there will probably be kids running around in the next couple of years.

Cool cool, Yeah a gash that deep might have done some nerve damage thats why you felt little or no pain. Personally i would love to collet some battle ready viking swords ad well as a few katanas(for anyone interested go to musahsiswords.com awesome and fairly inexpensive high carbon steel katanas) and an awesome falchion. I got into swords before tfs but i could not buy any back then so i was content with videos and forums and living vicariously through others lol. and for those interested in viking swords look for the ulfberht from reliks.com amazing sword.

No. The sword in the stone is called the sword from the stone. When it breaks in battle the lady of the lake give the far superior Excalibur to Arther. Every adaptation makes them one and same, but they aren't.

Nach- I'm in awe. That is a truly beautiful piece you have there.

I used to collect a lot, but got out of it once my daughter was born. Personally, I dislike 'fake' blades made of stainless steel and not full-tang, but do admittedly own a few.

    I have:
Fully real and large broad sword (effin' heavy, too)
    Officer's dress sabre (real)
Scimitar with metal-wrapped handle (more for show, but still sharp)
WW2 Trench knife (brass knuckles/dagger/skull breaker)
9" Buck Knife (same as in the old Friday the 13th posters)
Split dragon claw dagger (for show)
Full tang kitana-styled medium blade with matching dirk

Used to have a German stiletto, but traded it away ages back.

I have a reproduction of the katana from Highlander the series. Along with two other very cheap swords. I bought the katana at a cutlery store at a large mall 14 years ago. Sadly the store closed 6 or 7 years ago.

A year or so back, my Grandpa gave me his old Knights of Columbus sword. Its dull and ornamental, but still quite awesome looking.

I've heard the sword in the stone referred to as Caliburn. I always forget the name of Uther's sword, that Arthur used as his peace time sword.

Of course, there's always the retellings that have the Lady in the Lake giving Excalibur to Uther, Uther striking it into the stone before he dies, and Arthur eventually pulling it from the stone. It's like Hollywood Cliff's Notes version of Arthurian legend.
