Suckiest weapon is the plasma cannon. Charged weapons are hard to make use of when the pace is so fast.
Best (to me) are the X12 Scrapmaker and the Scatter blaster. The energon battle pistol is meh. It allows ranged shots, but up close it's get you killed. All other weapons are equally good, depends on your play style. If I'm a solider I roll with the X12 and Rocket launcher. As a scout I use the Null Ray and Scatter blaster. It's all about play styles... I suck with the plasma, but this guy on my team earlier was killing with it, and setting up kills for me. He was lowering their health or getting kills with the plasma, while a stayed a little back and laid sniper fire.
Nice, question do the melee range differ from scout to soldier? I know this may seem like a silly question.
Yep the scouts do more of a jumping sword slash, while the soldiers have two melees, a standard one handed hammer swing, and a special where they spin around while holding the hammer.
Cool, very helpful info. Is aiming without zooming in pretty accurate and tight?
it's hard to tell, because sometimes people are moving so damn fast as scouts. i would at least say it was adequate. Still have trouble sniping.
energon battle pistol is a 5 shot pistol with 5x zoom
null ray is 4 shot with 10x zoom
scout shotgun is a 5 shot automatic
plasma blaster is a charged up pistol like weapon, can fully empty it in 2 and half shots if you charge up fully.
scout vehicle weapon is 2 machine guns about 150 shots per "clip"
emp grenades scramble and slow down your opponets (and yourself if youre not careful) think of it like a flashbang (you get 2)
scrapmaker is a gatling gun with a ton of rounds per clip
assualt rifle is exactly like it sounds (not sure on clip size)
emp shotgun is a much more powerful 2 shot semi automatic
rocket launcher is a 4 shot rocket launcer that locks on vehciles
tank weapon is a big single shot cannon blast (10 shots)
frag grenades - just like it sounds.. and you only get one
- Battle Pistol - slow and you have to aim right on the money (hard for fast pace)
- Plasma Cannon - charged weapon (hard for fast pace)
- Null Ray - Sniper Rifle (max damage, very slow)
- Scatter Blaster - auto-shotty (CQC, medium damage)
- Assult Rifle - high rate of fire (accurate if used with controlled bursts)
- X12 Scrapmaker - minigun (high rate of fire and damage, low accuracy)
- EMP Shotgun - high damage, low everything else (2 rounds per clip, so get up close and don't miss)
- Thermo RL - lock on to alt-mode (low rate of fire, high everything else)
For scout i usually go with the scatter blaster and pistol (but i pick up different gun whenever i can for the pistol) and for soldier I usually go with the scrapmaker and rocket launcher.
BTW, I can't remember... are other weapons unlock-able in the full game for each class?
no i think that it's only 4 weapons per class. i don't think you start out with all 4 in the main version though.
So many choices. LOL
I'm pretty sure that in the demo you also had to unlock the Null Ray and Scrapmaker.
As for weapons, here are my thoughts on a few of them:
Scatter Gun: Great weapon to combine with the melee attack. A successful melee hit combined with an up-close scatter shot will kill a scout and about 4 shots will take out a soldier.
Null Ray: Takes some practice to aim. Is good to use in camo. The first shot will give you away but if you can land a second shot it'll drop a scout. Not sure about a soldier. Also good to use in the bunker area of the bases.
Scrapmaker: Must have weapon. If you see it, pick it up. Great for wearing enemies down if you're fighting a group.
EMP Shotgun: Tricky to use since it's two shots and takes a bit to reload. Devastating at close range. Can drop someone in about 2 shots at close range.
what would be awesome would be a energon sword, like the sword from halo 3
everyone always has a melee weapon on them ands scouts do have swords
My favorite gun so far is the scout's scatter gun. It's devastating when combined with melees and invisibility.
