Agreed although I wasn't so much angered as I was disappointed at the waste of time and of a core, legendary character.

the characters themselves dont have great attachments to names so i find myself being lax about names as well and focus more on the personalities for character identity.
i can understand that people are upset that minimus isnt the original in universe ultra, but come one guys its a new universe with new rules. characters things can be a bit different. right?

Just wondering...all those people that are "upset" with Magnus and the mythos. How do you feel about Primes in general? Or Animated Ultra Magnus?

Because throughout the franchise, we've gotten a myriad of different Primes [even though they are all "Optimus" and share basic traits], and in Animated, Magnus was just a rank.

In essence, this is what's going on with this Magnus as well. Except that he's both a rank and a character now, and nobody knows of the little secret. And to be honest, he's the same guy we've known since SL: Ultra Magnus.

Seriously, the only time Magnus is not the one we know is back in Autocracy and Monstrosity.

 

Again, other than those issues which show Minimus Ambus, how is Ultra Magnus different to what we expect from an Ultra Magnus? I say there isn't anything. There is nothing about Ultra Magnus' actions in Dark Cybertron that say to us he isn't the real Ultra Magnus.

Its relevant because MTMTE is ongoing. Minimus Ambus hasn't been mentioned or referred to since his short story arc other than Prowl's line of "Is that a threat, Minimus Ambus?"

Ultra Magnus continues to act like a typical Ultra Magnus, so I ask, are people still pissed?

 

You bumped a thread from JANUARY. I'm pissed at YOU. I don't presume everyone thinks as much about message board etiquette as everyone else, but this should have been a question to ask the #30 discussion thread OR, if it's really that important, in a new thread.

IMHO, ipso facto, I'm not a mod, that's just my reaction to your post and how I would have handled such a post differently.

 

Look, everybody: there's one benefit from this necrothread. I read the whole thing, and I finally read that old thread about "The Beast" and the shitstorm that ensued.

And my favorite thing in the whole world happened: that butthurt writer dude used '24' and 'The A-Team' as counterpoints to prove a dichotomy. On cultured audiences, I think, no less.
