    He agrees with you.

On the Origin of Transformers - Roger Ebert's Journal

Before anyone jumps the gun, the whole article is satire. Even in the comments, Ebert basically says that you can't really take him too seriously, because he knows next to nothing about Transformers, nor does he care.

Sorry if this has been posted before.

I normally don't pay attention to Ebert. I'm just not into that kind of thing, however this is kinda funny. Nice to see he doesn't take it super srs.

I just know that people constantly diss Ebert on this forum. They pretty much talk about him like he's the Devil. So I was hoping that maybe this article would calm the storm a bit.

...I won't get into politics, but as a skeptic and an atheist, this Ebert article made me chuckle. So true! Prove that Transformers exist...and you have probable evidence of Intelligent Design! Brilliant! :lol

Considering that the vast majority of Ebert haters have little-to-no reading comprehension when it comes to his reviews, I doubt anything he writes can calm that storm. All they see is rage like the Red Lanterns.

Wow. That's a bit harsh, dude.

The fact of it is that after reading that, he just comes off as a crotchety old man who yells at the local youth to stay off his lawn.

"Those damn kids and their crazy imaginations!"

Either way - :lol  , Ebert. I used to respect you before you turned into an internet troll.

No, it's not. Going WAY back to Ebert's original review of ROTF, fans erupted into an irrational shitstorm over his opinions. It was stupid, so stupid that he felt the need to form a response to that initial mania. Was it in jest? Absolutely, but again fans took it as a person insult ignoring many of the valid complaints he stated about the film. Flash to today, and the same shit is happening.

Nevertheless, is he poking fun at rabid fans that can't take any criticisms concerning the movies? Absolutely, but honestly, I can't really blame him.
