I'm seriously considering getting a region-free DVD player so that I can get these sets. The biggest appeal of the Japanese sets is that you can switch the dialogue to subbed, dubbed, or regular. And since my tapes for RiD aren't great, I was thinking of getting them too.

So does anyone one any of these sets? I was wondering if these are worth the pricetag. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks. Yeah those voice tracks make the sets real attractive. And with Victory coming out this summer I may have to jump on these sets!

Only thing is, I can't seem to find any place that has the Metrodome DVDs readily available for Canada. EBay only seems to have the chinese bootlegs.

I just have to get a DVD player that can handle PAL as well as NTSC. However, they still play very well on the PC. Very much worth getting.

Hook, you could probably get em from Amazon UK. Don't know if the format would be different though, but I was thinking of getting them from there if/when I get a region-free player.

The Headmasters sets are decent. Couple of the subs are a little off, but nothing that destroys the series. They also use the US names opposed to the Japanese ones, but that doesn't affect matters much anyway. It's a very enjoyable set.

RiD is a stellar set, the extras aren't that great, but the quality is excellent. Well worth it.

Can't comment on Masterforce, as it's not out yet. Check back in a month or so.

What's the best place to get the RiD DVD set? eBay's striking out for me.

I'd say Amazon UK is a good start.

BTW, Amazon UK has Masterforce's release date at May 26, which means that it should be out. Looks like Victory got pushed back to July 31, just in time for the trading deadline! :)
