For anyone that watched the Oscars, do you think Transformers should've been in the 90 Years Promo?

but basically the promo had every impactful movie of all time, with a weight towards recent films, thanking the audience for seeing 90 Years of films. I saw many films that definitely weren't "Oscar caliber" in the traditional sense, most of them were generally popular. While some may say Oscar and Transformers shouldn't be in the same sentence, the massive success and place in pop culture the first 3 films had, at least, can't be ignored. Not to mention, TF1 was a landmark achievement in VFX
I was honestly expecting at least one scene, was surprised when there wasn't.

I expect a fair amount of inflammatory replies on this thread, but I hold hope that it will produce some thoughtful discussion.

Yeah, I saw it live. I thought there might be a chance they would've showed a clip but given the awful critical reception of the series after TF1 I'm not surprised.

I would've showed the clip/shot of Optimus in TF1 after his transformation in mission city. That or the slow mo shot of him and Bonecrusher.

I'm disappointed none of the Star Wars movies made it into that clip.

I still believe the impact of TF1 warranted it in there. Regardless of reception, the TF movies have a place in cinematic history, I do feel it was snubbed.

They had the "I am your father" moment. Nothing from the recent films.

Sadly that's probably one of the only scenes the general public would recognize.

There are many films that were more impactful.

Not really. 5th highest grossing franchise of all time. That definitely deserves inclusion in this promo, whose objective feature films that many people saw, and nothing more.

Who cares? Speaking only for myself, I don't.

I have not watched the Oscars in decades. I don't plan to watch the Oscars again in my life. I didn't even watch the Oscars when this woman I sort of know won an Oscar. I don't believe my opinions need to be validated by awards and nominations and presentations.

Well, I disagree, but you're entitled to your opinion.

True, but it's not validation for me as much as is that I'm happy when something I love gets the recognition it deserves.

I’m probably the only one here who is defending not only that, but that all 5 Transformers movies were such masterpieces and should’ve swept the Oscars their respective years.

I legit defend the movies to the death.

I will definitely say that they got totally snubbed each year they were nominated.

While I didn't watch the Oscars as a bit of a film nut I'm going to say it was going to be completely impossible to have clips from every culturally significant film of the past 90 years. Just too many movies that were either huge in their time, that grew into a classic later on or have that line that people would repeat for years and years.

What were they boycotting for this awards show?

Look, I'm sure that plenty of fans from other franchises saw that montage and thought the same thing. It's not really a big deal.

Yeah, I would've liked it. Didn't watch it though. Did Pirates show up?

No and come to think of it, it also should've appeared. For better or worse Pirates and Transformers were the two of the three(besides Potter) most successful and dominant franchises before the MCU became the force it is now.

TF1 wasnt perceived good too. It should won Oscar in visuals, but didn't. I personally don't remember any good critical reviews of TF1... The bad attitude towards Michael Bay existed far before TF Movies *sigh.
