I would expect Jazz back if for no other reason than political correctness. I'm sure the NAACP, Rainbow Coalition, ACLU, and other related groups wouldn't take kindly to the only 'African-American Transformer' being killed off in the first of at least (logically) three movies without coming back.
Well I'm black! ANd I do kinda find it very screwy that Jazz dies so fruitlessly! But come on in the '86 movie the only 5Autobots that didn't die that was in this movie was Jazz and Bumble Bee! So it was gonna be either one! The NAACP kinda gets on my nerves! Make stupid comments about my boy Donovan Mc Naab!
I can see it now... Jazz: "Oh man, what happened?" Ratchet: "Megatron tore you in half, but we brought you back with the Allspark fragment!" Jazz: 'Well thanks for putting me back to gether again, Ratchet." BB: "Uhh, we haven't got that far yet..." Jazz *looks down*: "What the fuck!?" That'd be awesome if that happened.
So I'm not the ONLY person who noticed this... Of course, we all know this also means someone ELSE will be back, although that was a given. "That's what you think, Ratchet... just keep your mitts off my.. "No back talk, or I'll short your mouth circuits..." "Why you..." ... sorry, wrong Autobot! heh heh...
Now I hear ya on that McNaab thing... those WERE stupid comments... Jazz got full points for bravery though in his 'fruitless' death scene... but since he was my favorite character from the old cartoon (Scatman had one of the best voices ever) I was sad to see him die in any event.
Speaking as a Jazz fan, I was gutted when I read of his demise in the 'Prime Directive' script earlier this year. Some hope was raised when I heard that they had changed the movie somewhat, due to online fan reaction... and then I was gutted again when it turns out that he still gets whacked. After seeing the film, I think the worst part is that he doesn't even get to put in a decent performance during the final battle. Despite his over-elaborate athletic moves throughout the rest of the film, all he manages is to do at the beginning of the fight is pull off one of Brawl's rocket pods, then he gets blasted by Megatron and he's had his chips. Sad to say, I don't think Jazz will return in the future because they really don't need him to. They found it hard enough giving screen time to anyone other than Bumblebee or Prime (although I think Jazz did get the most lines after the main two), and with the anticipation of new characters and the much needed *cough!* 'Human element', I just don't think they'll be room for the (in my opinion) best Autobot of the lot. Hopefully I'll be wrong and we'll see him breakdancing in TF2, but I wouldn't trust Hasbros' character bios (Brawl/ Devastator?) -they're just after the repaint bucks.
Personally I think they will save the resurection of Jazz for "Transformers 3-At Cybertron's End" but what do I know. So much time to speculate untill the sequel comes out.
I can see it now, Prime is dead, all seems to be lost, the autobots vist wrek-gar.."do ya really want to save your leader?" "well duh!" says bb, Jazz walks down a staircase,Wrek-gar:"then you'll need some help!". dun duh dada dun duh dada dunduh dun dun da
Wait...please correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't Michael Bay say in a recent interview that he wanted to kill off Jazz because he really did not like the Pontiac Solstice as a vehicle mode for Jazz and could not secure him as a Porsche? So by "killing" Jazz, Bay can bring him back with the Allspark shard and give him a much better vehicle mode in a possible sequel? Also, depending on the film's success (which so far has been great), he could see if any other car companies would want to jump in and increase the range of vehicles that can be used as Alt-modes. That's what I remember.
They can change their alternate modes anytime they want in the movie. It's not likely that killing him off would be necessary for that. I don't think. But I like the idea of him coming back in the 3rd movie, not the second.
Well, my wonderful satellite internet (insert sarcasm here) won't let me see the page. I liked Jazz. Too bad Scatman Curruthers is dead. Would've been nice to have him voice Jazz again. Maybe in a sequel, if Cliffjumper arrives, Casey Kasem will do the voice. I'd rather see Prowl or Bluestreak arrive. But one good thing.. if Jazz can be resurrected, so can Megatron... so maybe that's in the works. I assumed the allspark was gone. Prime crushed that tiny shard in his hand. Doug
Yes Yes THERE IS A GOD YES YES YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good. I'm glad he's coming back. Did anyone else think that his death was really lame? I mean Optimus sees his torn apart body and all he can say is "Awww Jazz."
Scatman Crothers was Jazz in my opinion! Too bad hes long gone! Jazz is too popular too killoff for good!
I don't think he crushed it. He clutched it in his hand like you'd clutch the last remnant of something precious that someone might try to take away from you or you were afraid might be lost again (did you see the look on his face?). Now here's an idea...we saw the Allspark create nasty, mindless robots. If they use the shard to resurrect Jazz, might that not corrupt him?
Wasn't it because all modern machines are reverse engineered from Megatron, so they are inherently nasty? Anyway, I believe Optimus will use that fragment to resurrect Jazz.
