So, anyone else particularly g'd up about this? It starts tomorrow in Germany, I think the first match is the host nation versus Costa Rica?

Generally I don't like football, club football generally goes the way of the club who can afford the best players, but international football is a totally different animal...

Anyway, I was wondering who else is looking forward to the tournament, and if so, what country you supporting?

    The qualified teams are...

Angola, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, Equador, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Netherlands, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Serbia and Montenegro, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Ukraine and the USA.

Obviously I'll be supporting England, but one thing I am surprised about, no China team... considering the Olympics are set to be in Beijing in 2 years (is that all?) I would have thought China would be trying to blitz the sporting world.

Let us all know who you're rooting for!

    Fuck soccer. It's fucking football.

Can't wait for the world cup to gert started. I've already placed my bets and entered my pools. With Neither Scotland or Ireland in this time around ( will fucking Scotland EVER get into a world cup again??) I'll be rooting for France. However, I just don;t know if anyone can beat Brazil. Such a strong attack on that team.

I am glad people like the sport. I could care less about it. I would rather watch paint dry or grass grow.

I have never been big into it, I did play a year when I was young but tired of it quickly.

However I'm always up for a good Soccer Riot!

I actually enjoy watching regular soccer on TV. The World Cup is even that much better.

Just for the sake of causing an arguement, its FOOTBALL. The game is the one where you actually play with your FEET. As opposed to american football, which is a variation on Rugby. Why don't they call it "American Rugby?"
And since Ireland didn't qualify (again) and we are such fans of underdogs, I'm going to be supporting Trinidad & Tobago....

I'm from Argentina and I should be saying "go argentina, we'll win this year, yeah!!!" but I'm not.
I just don't think we are gonna win the World Cup considering what happened 4 years ago.
