After my initial disappointment FOC Jazz, I was not very impressed by the FOC figures.
But i am pleased to report that Shockwave have a few things going on for him compared to Jazz.

    1) Plastic feels sturdier
    2) The overall design is one solid looking bot. Everything pegs into place and there are no loose parts or parts hanging/flopping around.
    3) The purple has a nice shade to it and compliments the figure well.
    4) There are some translucent bits-on his chest, eyes and his cannon. All nicely placed
    5) The light piping is glorious
    6) He can assume quite a number of poses and stances, unlike Jazz, who is a chore to pose
    7) Alot of molded details and it helps that the purple plastic compliments the details nicely.
    8) His weapon/cannon integrates well with his alt mode

Now for the not so good points:-
    1) He is tiny...compared to the photos taken by Fallenkia with WFC Soundwave, he just looks.....small.
    2) The hands are rounded off, not like the hands from the RTS line or FOC Jazz (this is just a personal preference)
    3) No waist joint
    4) Alt mode looks funky, but since it is a Cybertronian mode, your mileage may vary.

Overall I would say that he might fit into those collecting the classics line.

    Beautiful beautiful light piping
    [IMG]

Easy to pose and joints are tight
    [IMG]

    Alt mode is passable
    [IMG]

Storage for his cannon in bot mode and can be held by both hands.

Conclusion? If you really need a Shockwave to go with your Classics collection, he is the best option at the moment. but his size might be the slightly off putting, but that does not detract from the fact that this is a nice and good looking figure.

    Addendum - Cannon placement.

The instructions did not mention that you can flip the hands and peg in the cannon like his gun arm.

    Initially, it was like this:-
    [IMG]
Basically is is blocked by the hand guard
    [IMG]

The instructions (at least on mine) left out the step where you can fold the arms and attach the cannon like his gun arm

So far he looks sweet. :)  I can handle the small size. At least he's in scale with the WFC Megatron figure I have.

I will definitely be getting him, but could I ask if that's a swivel joint right above his knee? It would be a little dissapointing if he didn't have some kind of upper leg swivel besides the balljoint at the waist.

    Thanks for the review.

Not bad...Ill pick it up because its Shockwave...

Hate to say it, but at the moment, Im still liking the DOTM a bit better. he looks like he TFs into a remote control for your TV. Would make sense in the 80's...

Im sure ill dig it when its in my hand

Yes he does. He has a swivel joint on his knees. FOC Jazz also have the same joint. But for Jazz it is hampered by the additional plastic so the knee swivel joint for Jazz is kinda pointless.

For size comparison, here he is with FE CJ.

Now this is what I've been waiting for! FoC Shockwave has been my most-anticipated toy of 2012 since he was revealed, and he remains at the top of my want list. Definitely looks like the best of the first three FoC toys by a long shot.

After this figure and Giant I'll have all the season 1 G1 Decepticons for my Classics collection.

Is it possible to sink the gun further into his fist so it looks more like it's integrated with his arm?

    Dang.

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait for some sort of shapeways add-on.

Very good bot mode... but like all post-G1 Shockwave figures, utterly garbage alt mode.

His alt is a little less imposing than the art:
Wonder is Bruticus could wield it like a gun...

Definitely on the top of my "to get" list.
