So, can anyone explain to me why the Amazon exclusive G2 Bruticus is $60, whereas buying the five components at retail comes to $75 plus tax? Am I missing something here?

Often times multi-packs are cheaper than they would be individually.

You're paying packaging prices for each individual figure that's packaged and sold. The G2 giftset is packaged in one total package, rather than 5 with different bios and different art prints on them. So having all of them packed into one box is going to save on some of the costs associated with the package aspect of it.

Multipack example, DOTM Walmart 2-pack, Voyager Prime and a deluxe, for $18.xx. Less than cost of a voyager.

It's a difference in how figures are budgeted and priced to be profitable. Single pack figures are priced to each hit a certain profit margin. When they combine them into a whole set, they can determine what kind of margin they want to have for the whole set. Also, Amazon marks their prices up much less from wholesale than brick and mortar stores.

@retail theyre supposed to be $14.99 each

    G2 comes out to $65

    SDCC came out to $120

BBTS & TF Source have them for $22 each

Yeah, there is some disparities in price

Um seeker11, amazon offer free shipping to orders over $25, so it's a flat 59.99 if you take the option

OK, so let's break this down. Obviously there is no way to really know if this is right or wrong:

    1- SDCC:
    - Fewest amount made, which means the highest price as they have to run these with a completely different color for a smaller run. So hence the most expensive
    2- Amazon:
    - No way to know how many are made, but I am assuming a lot more then SDCC. Hence the cheaper price to produce. The more you produce the more you can save.
    - Amazon also likes to discount like the way Walmart does.
    3- General Retail Release:
    - $10 more then Amazon release because of separate packaging for each.
    4- BBTS:
    - They always charge more. They are expecting the remainder of the case not to sell, so those other figures will see deep discounts and these figures will pay the difference. Also, BBTS is not really a place you go for savings.

i think the bolded part is the biggest part of why it's cheaper on Amazon.

Pretty much. Having never ordered from BBTS before, but having friends who did, I always figured the higher cost was because you're (nine times out of ten) guaranteeing you'll have the item, and to cover services like the POL system and whatnot.

But that's just me thinking idly.
