The Onslaught looks like the most game-accurate version of Onslaught alone, however. (Going off the in-game renders we've seen anyway).

And Swindle/Brawl are "close enough" to stand-in if you want versions of them that aren't stuck in a Bruticus body.

And finally, you then kinda have to buy Vortex/Blast-Off, because otherwise they'll clog shelves, so stores won't restock as quickly and kids won't be able to build the combiner as easily.

    ... well done.

Hopefully this will see release in the states. I think I like it more than the SDCC version, which is surprising since I actually had G1 Bruticus (... and G2 Swindle).

Once prices come out for sure, I'll make my decision but all I know is that the Energon version is going to be left in the dust.

Um, is it just me or is the K. More Normal set the same as the Amazon set, with both being the colors we've been told will be the retail version? And the thing labeled Retail is actually the SDCC one.

Edit: Yeah, the chart in the OP is inaccurate. Here's a fixed version.

As long as I can hold of the whole team I'm fine with any of those paint schemes.

Calling it now, with the new subscription service from the club, we will see FOC Bruticus as RID Ruination.

Makes perfect sense given they are already doing Scourge.

I will buy both the SDCC and G2 sets. I'd buy a 3rd set in Ruination colors. About the only version of this toy I could envision myself not wanting is the regular retail release. :lol

Well I can predict my wife's future sayings like this:

Getting SDCC version: "Oh cool honey, glad you were able to get one."

Getting Retail version: "Ok, since he is different enough, though he is mostly the same figure."

    G2 version: "WTF?! Seriously a 3rd one?"

    Lord help me...

The thing is, have we ever explicitly been told that the Energon version will be the mass-release version? I know we've sort of been taking it for granted, but they kept saying that those weren't final colors the first few times the Energon version was shown.

I'm just asking if there's been any statement explicitly confirming that the Energon version is the mass retail version? I know, common sense and logic dictates that's most likely, but... that doesn't really apply when it comes to these releases of late.

^ This was confirmed at BotCon.

Sorry Bruticus completists. I didn't even think of that. :lol  I can see why, but it's funny how much love he gets out of Hasbro relative to other combiners.

I hope this is an Amazon exclusive because those usually end up as TRU.com exclusives here, so I can totally get one.

I'm not sure if it's been explicitly stated, but there have been pics of the one I labeled SDCC in the exclusive packaging (I think, would appreciate a link to confirm) and the one I labeled Retail was the one Hasbro's Facebook account put out pictures of after they initially put out pictures of the SDCC version. I'm guessing that they put up the first set of pictures by mistake and issued the other ones as a correction of sorts. Also the Energon color scheme seems like it will be retail because it's the one that's been shown off at Botcon and other conventions.

Well, this is good news for the people who were complaining the retail release colors aren't 'G2' enough. Here you go, and you're welcome to it.

    You forgot one:

    • Desert Camo Ruination

Wasn't there another version lurking somewhere?

    Thank you.

... people calling the Energon color-scheme "G2" was a real pet peeve of mine.

We also need separate Energon and Super Link decos. Same goes for Ruination and Valdigus (however you romanize that).
