The hollow pins may be the cause of the problem, but they're not "cheap". Most high-end Japanese figures (Soul of Chogokin, Robot Damashii) use the spring pins as well, probably because their "springy" nature exerts gentle pressure on the surrounding plastic, providing extra friction, keeping the joints tight.

And nobody had any issue with City Commander and the likes.

I suppose the issue here is that the plastic wall surrounding the pins in this case is a bit thinner, so the extra pressure cracked the plastic.

However, it's a non-vital joint. Due to the kibble arrangement on Explorer, I can't really say that that joint is all that useful, and it's not used at all in transformation. Wouldn't really hurt things at all if you just glued it up and forgot about it.

btw if some one actually glued the cracks can you let us know if it stick at all, some times superglue doesn't work on certain plastics. thanks.

Eh? Less than ten posters complaining about this, and it's already epic fail?

well for a 3rd party "CUSTOM MADE" Transforming robot set.

I'm very happy with what I have, hollow pins or not.

And for the record. I have zero issues so far with my set.

    edit: spoke too soon.

Munitioner's left ankle is cracked. meh, it's all good the joint is still tight and secure and doesn't effect posability or transformation.

With my Explorer, the pin holding one of the folding back panels was inserted at an angle, causing the ring around it to break when I tried to transform it.

A replacement has been sent out, but as I'm on holiday I won't know if that has any faults until next week :(

just checked mine, i have the same crack but its only on one side. not too bothered as the crack is hidden in the combined mode and i hardly ever transform him.

no problem on the elbow joints YET!!!
