A kind of bittersweet thing when I see videos like this is that I tell myself I should've put effort into keeping my own collection in better condition. I think I only have 100-200 (unimpressive compared to your collection, Flywheels), but throughout some toy chests in my house, plenty of figures are now without some vital pieces, Transmetals' vacuum metallized paint has deteriorated even faster, etc. : /

I've got many figures out in the open, like many diverse toys displayed along my bedroom shelf, but those are the minority of what I've got.

Sometimes I listen to fans try to talk about the hobby to media and get rather embarrassed. Usually they seem socially inept and irrational... honestly, weird.

However, there was none of that here. Did a great job answering the questions, realizing it was a hobby based around a kids toy line, putting things in plain terms, and coming off as more rational than the guy collecting the soda machines (he's kinda creepy).

    Impressive collection!

Being one that constantly meet mockery and disunderstanding about collecting, it's refreshing to see other people who 'gets' it and share the same crazy passion. :)

Good stuff man, sweet collection there. Love hearing from collectors my age as well, growing up in the 80's, and recapturing that childhood wonderment. Good stuff. Love the man-cave there too. Don't quite have space for one of those in my house, maybe someday.

    Okay, that was really great.

You often end up with at least some sort of subtle "freak of the week" tone with stories that focus on someone's extraordinary/unusal collection, ability, , accomplishment, etc. There may be some good natured teasing, and for collections the story almost always veers towards "What's the crazy amount of MONEY you spent!?"

Nope. You've just got intelligent and likable normal guy Flywheels showing off his kick-ass collection with brief descriptions and answers that contribute really well to a segment like this.

Then you've got this TV program that presents it in a really nice and respectful way. They said "Hey, here's something you might find cool and interesting." And then they showed exactly that. Heck, they even went with some music that made the collection seem as grand as it is rather than making it cheesy.

Congratulations to Flywheels! And thanks for sharing.

Nice collection (would be too overwhelming for me to handle), and you did well in the interview.

Congrats; did you ever think on going on "Extreme Collections" on the Travel Channel?
