I really dislike the design direction taken with these kits; it seems too out-of place for Transformers to have modern Gundam or Evangelion proportions. Just my personal preference.

If they are possible like a gundam kit, I'm probably going to pick one of these up. It may not transform, but man do they look awesome in my opinion!

These look awesome! Not really into Hound's head but that's about it. I really hope they're not too expensive because I'd love to buy these.

Those are some interesting designs to say the least.

Gotta question the decision to have giant pieces of alt mode kibble on them despite the models obviously not transforming though...

wow, ugh. I mean, I've wanted an Obari-Laserdisc version of Prime for the longest time, but this isn't really scratching that itch...
I mean, I guess maybe people in Asia are fangasming over these or something. Someone must be buying.

Honestly, though, in the venn diagram of Gundam fans and Transformers fans, they're slamming that midsection so hard I think it'll break.

No thanks, Flame Toys, no thanks.

    They are two separate lines.

Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri are IDW inspired/accurate super expensive fully painted, highly articulated figures.

    They have planned:
    01 Drift (to be released)
    02 Tarn (gray prototype)
    03 Star Saber (gray prototype)
04 Optimus Prime (concept art only)

Furai Models is a model kit line with originally styled non-Transformable TFs. The styling is similar to Sentinel and other Japanese mecha.

    They have planned:
    Optimus Prime (coloured)
    Starscream
    Bumblebee
    Hound

The top image belongs to Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri, an IDW Andrew Griffth's Optimus Prime.

The bottom two images are of the Furai Models.

It looks like the Flametoys one is based on these two Andrew Griffths designs.

The hard angled chests are a bit weird.

While I am ALL FOR NON-TRANSFORMABLE TRANSFORMER TOYS, I find it funny that with these Furai Model ones, it is as though they are designing a new stylised robot with no regard of a vehicle mode and they probably don't have to design a thorough vehicle model lineart either. It is like 3A's Ashley Wood one with no need for an Alt mode. Though, some IDW bot modes don't have vehicle modes.

I grew up as a Gundam fan and never liked the wide torso proportions of transformers. Dreamwave's Pat Lee along with Revoltechs and Don Fig's IDW designs saved the day for me.

That is why I love the sleek toy designs of Revoltech, Maketoys and G-Creation.

I do prefer non-transformables as the bots are fundamentally shapeshifters, not fold-formers, so in plastic form they should be a proper looking humanoid robot rather than a blocky vehicle module with appendages sticking out. But as I still acknowledge that they are transformable characters in universe, they still need an alt mode designed in universe for them to be TRANSFORMERS.

For me, sleek proportions is key, transformable figure or not.

I\'m sorry but these look like TF toys from 6-7 years ago.  Good luck...

Good grief, did he steal POTP Starscream's oversized gorilla arms?

Aside from that, looks like he's based more on Don Fig's design than on Griffith's, especially the legs (note the knee armor, and the side panels folded over the wheels). As for the upper body... yeah, I don't know what's going on there.

Wow, these are so misshapen and badly designed, they remind me of the Revoltech figures with Pat Lee-chested Optimus. Plus who wants non-transforming transformers again after Action Masters and Robot Replicas proved to be such great success? [/sarcasm]

Robot collectors tend to have a preference of one or more of the following:

    Transformable Transformers
Transformable Japanese Super Robots (Soul of Chogokin)
Non-transformable Japanese Super Robots (Mazinger, Super Robot Chogokin)
Transformable Real Robots (Macross Bandai and Arcadia)
Non-transformable Real Robots (Bandai Gundam, Sunrise mecha etc)

Non-transformable Transformer toys and designs(IDW, Dreamwave) tend to fall in the last category.

For me, I main the last two categories. i do have a few from the 1st and 3rd categories too.

Now those look awesome. A cartoon in that style would be great.

actually we have a 'Gundam + Transformers' way back in the 90's, its called the Brave/Yuusha series, toys made by Takara (before merged with TOMY) which some characters are reused G1 toy molds, & original characters designed by Gundam's big daddy, Kunio Okawara-sensei, also the shows happens to be animated by the same studio of Gundam, Sunrise.
