Started an actual feedback thread in the appropriate area since we've gotten these in hand now. Flametoys Kuro Kara Kuri 02 Tarn
After having him in hand it's like Hot Toys on steroids. There is so much that moves and so many joints. Light up features, and lots of heft. He's never going to have limp joints. You can feel every dollar put into the toy. There is also an extreme high end feel especially the paint. He's expensive but its something that until you have him and handle him his pictures while amazing cannot do him justice.
I don’t think this has been posted. Figure looks awesome. I don’t know much about Tarn but I kinda want to jump in on this line. Too bad the first regular Drift is sold out everywhere and going for 430+ aftermarket. So this guy will probably 600+ after market this time next year for anyone on the fence.
Does anyone recall the batteries this guy takes? I am out and about and was going to get some extras.
I’m just debating upgrading my shipping at tcp on this. I assume this counts as a big box smart post package. Last couple big bots I upgraded shipping on fedex still screwed me
Arrived from D4. The hands detach easily and the forearm shell came off from just light pressure so I superglued it. Aside from that, it’s a work of art
NEVER in my life did I ever think I would consider purchasing a posable statue at half the price of a used car.
Got the full review and gallery for FlameToys' Kuro Kara Kuri 02 Tarn up on site. Link in signature (if on mobile, just switch to desktop or turn to landscape to view signatures.) The article breaks this thing down but overall it's an extremely solid and articulated piece that shows very quickly in-hand why the price is so high. Here are a few shots from the 20-picture gallery:
Looks really nice indeed, but It's soooo expensive for something that doesn't transform that I am not interested anymore. Around 250 dollars would have been fair imo.
Quite a lot, I'm sure. Most cost factors for specialty product like this come down to economics of scale. While the pricing is far above what you could expect from similar product from Bandai or TakaraTomy, it's right in line with FlameToys' sister company Sen-Ti-Nel.
