Can't find my original thread, so I'll start another (Allen, what'd you do?).

The box pictures and instruction sheet all show Starscream having a double joint in his palms so that his hands can tuck into the jet and not look so goofy. I built some joints out of styrene as a warm up to a bigger project to recreate the effect. His other hand will come out neater, lol.

What specific part(s) did you use to make the double joint?

    This one?

Starting this new thread is completely cool, based on the content of the above thread :)  Other than that, I'm at a loss on it.

See, now why couldn't I find that when I searched the creative forum and all child forums for my name?

    Sorcery, that's why!

You can merge the two threads if you wish. It would show that I do follow up on things, lol.

Actually, I just bought the Nebular Starscream recently, and this modification is right up that alley.

Hasbro often times has to cut things from design and or production for budget reasons or other reasons. Things like additional paint applications cost Hasbro money, which in turn has to be recouped by the consumers at large.

That's ok, though - that's what Radicons are for :)

Where did you get the plastic sheet from?

It's just a sheet of styrene. I gave up trying to find any in a store around here, so I just looked in the local yellow pages under plastics for a distributor. The place that I called typically serves more industrial needs, but they didn't have any problem getting it for me. I got a 4x8 sheet for $32 and change, so I have plenty of the stuff for now.

As for the hands themselves, I cut them apart with a flame-heated Xacto knife to minimize how much I'd lose to the cutting tool. I had to cut the thumbs off to get the pins into the proper spot, but they glued back on just fine.
