so i finally got skyhammer, and man he was great. problem is, his plastic is terrible quality and after just one transformartion there were stress marks everywhere. after a day of leaving it alone, the back fin snapped off where the little red numbers are on the gray plastic are. i'm trying to glue it but it doesn't seem to want to stick.

    help? ideas?

Why return anything when you can fix(If possible)?

Since there are stress marks everywhere it would make more sense to return it, imo. The op doesn't have the box or receipt, however.

Yes, it would be swapping, and another unlucky fella would end up with your defective figure.

Is there any way to just return it to the store as defective? Maybe you can get a refund or exchange?

If you buy another, swap in the damaged one, return it and don't tell the store that it's damaged, then I'd say that's morally wrong. If the store thinks there's nothing wrong with it, there's a chance they'll put it back on the shelf and then, if the next buyer doesn't notice your repair, they get screwed over getting a defective figure.

The better route, IMO, would be to buy a new one and swap it for the defective figure without doing any repairs to the defective figure. Take it back to the store, tell them it's defective and broke right out of the box and you want a refund; based on my experience, you shouldn't have any problems. It's a lot more honest than swapping the figures out, returning the defective one and covering up the fact that there's a problem with it.

Because items should be in good working order when you by them

Because you should be happy with your purchases

Because hasbro needs to know about their poor qc/production problems

That's a pretty nasty break. It's fixable if you wanna pin and glue, but you just have to work carefully if you wanna make it nice and tight.

I agree with the first and third statements...but I sorta disagree with this. If you're like me a break isn't the end of the world. I do models, so my first reaction is "how can I fix it?" and then I'm going to work on it. I get a lot of satisfaction from fixes, as strange as it is. A lot of fixes like this are pretty basic fixes that require little to no effort as long as you already have the tools readily available to fix them with.

Not everyone is like that PlanckEpoch. I don't buy a transformer planning to repair or customize it. I wouldn't like to find it broken and don't view it as a challenge. I want something that meets all three statements.

I think that having a little bit of a modeller in people goes a long way in this hobby. A fix like this takes less effort than picking up your receipt, driving all the way back to the store, and going through the process only to hope the next one doesn't fall apart on you. This one? Put two or three pins in, and no force on earth is going to move that part.

I understand where you're coming from, I just think that it'd be nice if the general thought was "fix" before "return."
