Well, since it seems that there is a general sense of discontentment over the the white nose on Alt Ricochet (makes him look like a drug addict). And, since there seem to be so many people fixing him up, I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to the different techniques. So, post how you fix your Ricky's nose here!

    YouTube (Legacy):
Gold paint pen applied to entire face.

I've also found that the G1 Sideswipe missle launcher will clip onto the little magnet thingy on his shoulder, making a nice color-matching shoulder launcher.

My first Ricochet, I accidentally stripped the top of the screw so I couldn't disassemble the head... So I used an exacto knife instead and painstakingly scraped off the gold paint... Then I used black Testors enamel paint which I dabbed some onto the point of the exacto knife and filled in the small vents on the side of the head... And finally I used a black Sharpie and colored in the edge of his helmet...

But then I tried painting his face gold again... With a Sharpie oil based metallic paint pen... DO NOT DO THIS!!!

It ruined the face entirely... The stuff is almost like glue!!!:(

So I bought another Ricochet and this time since the screw isn't stripped, I disassembled his head, popped out his face and with a RoseArt Metallic Gold Permanent Pen, I did a once over with his face...

    Like so:

Now he looks AWESOME... The RoseArt gold pen made his face nice and smooth just like he was straight out of the factory...

So now I'm planning to kitbash the first Ricochet into none other than Razerwire!!!:rock

I have a question for kitbashers here... IF I wanted to remove the flames and gold paint on the spoiler, what's the best way??? Could I just use paint thinner or do I need something stronger???

That's pretty damned sweet... How did you make the helmet white and visor red??? Did you just paint the helmet white???

I just did what Razerwire did more or less, I popped his face out and painted it gold:

I uses testors acrylic gold gloss, the pic is a little blurry, but it looks factory applied in person.

I though about doing what AutobotSDG did, as I have an extra Meister, but now that I see it, I think he looks meaner looking with the head he's got.

I also fixed Rollbar BIGTIME I will post pictures tomorrow when I have better lighting, but he looks freaking AWESOME now!

Dude that looks frickin amazing. Where would I go about getting one of these pens? Do you have a pic of the pen so when I go looking for one I have something for reference? I don't have Ricochet yet but when I get one I want mine to look that good.

I got my set of pens at Wal*Mart for about $5.00...

    They look like this:

The great thing is, the other colors minus the silver one are great too...

For the silver one, I prefer regular metallic silver Sharpies... Not the oil based paint kind... :thumbs2:

Not even close. The Kitbashers Resource Guide (stickied post) has a post about it :)

I used Fusion white on the helmet, and painted the face gold. The visor is blue on Meister but a soak in Isopropyl Alcohol for about an 30 - 60 mins, and it becomes clear. I then painted it with a clear red.

I also had to swap the posts the head connects to because the one for the Silverstreak mold is a little too short so the Meister head won't turn properly.

As for the fire stripes and such, I would recommed what was told to me (and I use it quite often now). Brasso. It works nice on getting factory paint off any toy part.

HOWEVER, it depends if it's a paint app on top of a painted surface. I don't know if Ricochet's parts are molded in black or just black painted. (As Alt. Prowl's white parts are--they're painted onto a black mold) You can still do it, just be mindful of how much elbow grease you put into taking off the desired paint.

If Ricochet is molded in black, you've got no problems.
