    Seriously.
Why have they never aired Season 3?

The guys in charge probably agree with me; when we were kids, we felt like Tansformers the movie and Season 3 of the cartoon RUINED Transformers for us. Now that I'm older, I understand that is was good for Transformers in the long run, but I still like to believe that only season 1 and 2 existed.

It will be a nice change to see season 3 but will the Hub discontinue season 1 & 2?

This reminds me of The Jetsons on Boomerang. They go through the original season, then ignore the '80s series and start from the beginning again. Well, they DO show the Christmas episode from the '80s series...

Somebody at The Hub believes the Rodimus Prime era is a Dork Age and best left in the past?

I NEVER felt that. I didn't feel that until Headmasters aired. I loved that season 3 took us to space and allowed us to explore what Transformers do outside of earth.

Same here, I felt the stories where much more deeper and darker in s3. As an adult, I appreciate those episodes much more than I did as a kid.

I agree with these cats. I loved Season 3, warts and all. Loved it in 87, love it today.

    But I don't get The Hub :\

If season 3 airs, HUB has to air the movie before hand.

I will believe it when they actually air it. I have seen the descriptions say one thing, and then do something different the day it airs

Yeah, right. Like if The Hub was a geewunners' channel.
It's quite likely that Hasbro preferred to air the seasons that featured Movieverse cast.

I personally like Season 3 - it's different to what went before, and looking at it in retrospect, it's bold. New cast. New threats.

But it does get too far from what made Transformers so appealing initially. The Decepticons don't show up as often, or play second fiddle to the Quintessons. There's so few Earth based stories.

I can't deal with this right now. XD

Season 3 wasn't anything stellar and I guess in the long run expanded the Transformers lore by quite a wide margin. Even Optimus comes back, though the writing (such as it was in G1) was all over the place (not that seasons 1-2 didn't have its share of stinkers like B.O.T. XD). But yeah, as was mentioned, the focus on space and aliens felt weird and too Star Wars-ish, and the Cons became just a shadow of themselves with the craziness of Galvatron and the lameness of Scourge/Sweeps (Cyclonus was cool, at least).

Probably more just going with the stuff the 'casual fans' are more likely to remember, and/or using the cast that has more in common with the series and movies in the public eye now. Still, I'm happy to see them expanding the episode lineup. I hope they're doing the same with GI-Joe. I'd like to re-acquaint myself with the Serpentor era. :)
