This has been known for quite some time now. Classics Jetfire was made to resemble Jetfire in that Comic. I wish they would of done more of them.

You got it backwards. Stormbringer Jetfire was illustrated based on Classics Jetfire.

    Didn't Don design both Jetfire's?

You sure? I thought it was that Don (i think he was the one who did this) came up with the design for Jetfire for the comic and then Hasbro decided to use it for Classics Jetfire because it looked like an updated G1 Jetfire/Skyfire. Either way their the same design.

Pretty damned sure. The turnaround from artwork to production is a helluva lot longer for toys than it is for comics. Stormbringer would have had to been planned out a long ass time ago for the figure to hit roughly the same time as when the comic came out.

I'm also pretty sure that Jetfire is one of the Classics designs that Don didn't do.

I've always been under the impression that Don designed Classics Jetfire, and then used the design in Stormbringer. I guess I don't remember ever seeing official word of it, but the toy sure has a Don-esque head design.

    Genius :lol

And uhhhh since Don designed Stormbringer Jetfire, wouldn't logic say he technically designed Classics Jetfire since they're more or less the exact same thing?

Yeah... Don was probably working on Stormbringer and Classics close to the same time. He probably designed them simultaneously... because they are the same thing after all. :)

There's the gospel guys. Thanks Josh, I didn't realize the toy came first...though it shouldn;t be a surprise given how long it takes for them to go from drawing board to production.
