And these are all free downloads?
They should be, but I'm sure they will be at least 15 a pop. Where are the good titles? Other than RE, who cares? That one is questionable too.
call me insane did they just said"not playable on console til we get arround that? " that sounds bad.
the selection is weird as well-bring SoTN and playable on the freaking consolo and we'll talk then-
I believe they mean "Konami Antiques MSX Collection".
Um, anyway, the PS3 downloadables won't initially be playable on the PS3? Why?.
thats what I would like to know....
I mean if you are gonna have downloadable games, that dont play on the console, but play on an ACCESORIE and say that it will soon be playable on the console? whats the ideology behind it? is it buged? didnt they finish on time, what the hell thats all Im asking.
Maybe they're hoping it will boost PSP sales. Or maybe sales of both systems. "Oh look, there are finally decent games for the PSP, but guess what? You have to buy a PS3 to download and play them!" "Oh look, Sony finally has its 'XBOX Live killer' online service, but you have to buy a PSP to play the games! Better get out your wallet!"
For a service they've said is supposed to be so much better than XBL, this doesn't sound like a good start.
Sony's onlien is actually quite cool. They're adding much more recent games to the dowloadable mix (Resident Evil is a great choice). Plus the fact that one download will give you the game for your PS3 and your PS3, no paying twice for the same game. Also being able to re-download all your games on upto 5 PS3's is something 360 users will likely never see. Plus the ability to access your PS3 content from anywhere using your PSP and the that they want to make it so you can play your PS3 games on the PSP (using the PSP as the monitor and controller and letting the PS3 do all the work) anywhere in the world. Add to all that the service will be free of charge and I'd say they are off to a very ambitious start. As I have said before, the online capabilities are the only thing keeping me interested in the PS3.
the one thing that i really want to know is: Is it going to be region-free???
The exceptions are likely if the game makers want to add region encoding they can.
The new downloadable games will be playable on the PS3. The DL games that you won't be able to play on the ps3 out the gate are the PSOne games. At least as far as I can tell.
I have to admit, that sounds pretty cool. I probably wouldn't do much with it other than lie in bed and play while the PS3 is in the other room, but it still sounds cool.
I would imagine the lag between pressing a control and having the game react would be noticeable, though, especially if you're far away.
i might have to re-read it, but i'm thinking they're talking about PS3 games, not Downlable PSX/PS2/Genesis/etc games cause the whole article is about PS3 on the PSP.
Its nice that they'll be releasing 10 games per month, but it will be annoying for people because theres always an obscure game that some people will want but will never see.
Maybe they could eventually set up a sort of vote on the website for Playstation Underground members,or say when you register your PS3 they give you a list of games and you choose which ones you'd like to see for the next month.
