Here are some pictures of my WIP movie Leader Class Optimus Prime. There are too many things to tell about this project. I will post that later on in separate posts.
I just wanted to show my project in progress.

    Greetings from The Netherlands/Holland.

this is looking very good so far :)  i'm loving the side mirrors you attached. what did you use to make those?

i think that a black/grey wash would help to bring out the detail more on those robot parts. :)

The mirrors I used are from the brand Italeri and are usually used for Peterbilt scale-models in metrical scale 1/24. In truckmode Optimus Prime is almost 1/24 scale. OPs is a little smaller then 1/24 so the mirrors are just a little to big, but that doesn't bother me. These mirrors comes in a box with several truckparts just to pimp your truckmodel. I bought this box in a local scale-modelstore here back in Heerenveen where I'm living. I'll keep the black/grey wash in mind. Thanks in general for the reactions so far.

Oooohh...cool..How do you fix 'em anyway? Glue? Solder? etc etc...? Do the side mirrors really have mirror bits in 'em?

Their plastic mirrors. I drilled holes in the doors with the same diametersize of the mirrorframes. I used Bison superglue, based on cyanoacrylate and believe me it's tricky and nasty stuf, to fix 'em into the doors. And yes, they do have mirror bits in them. I'll show that later on.

Hey everyone who is reading this,

If you have any tips, ideas or suggestions on this project of mine, please respond. Even if you have an opinion on this.

In general, it's not asking for help. I'm just looking for ideas to make Optimus Prime realistic as close as it gets.

I allready thank everyone who is responding on this.

    Hey a fellow Dutchie!

I did my Prime a few months ago (I used a Premium Prime)

The actual Prime has very large diameter smoke stacks. You should go into your hobbyshop and get some aluminum rods (hollow) the right diameter. I used a dremel to cut them down to bits and to make the diagonal cut while not warping the rod.

Next you should order the reprolabels upgrade set (either directly from reprolabels or via gerrutcamaro.nl) stick them on then do the paint washes.

I've been a bit on a hiatus last couple of months, but I still have a scratchbuild BB arm cannon in primer and Starscream hands to build!

I was brainstorming on how I should do this. I was thinking to use reprolabels or pinstriping by hand. iDarkDesign gave me an internetlink to order reprolabels here in Holland. That makes it much easyer to do it. Thank you in general.

I already pulled out the original smokestacks and now you mentioned it, they doesn't look right. They're too small. About the reprolabels, I think that I'm going to use that. So, thanks for the link and for the tips. Just let me know how you giong to build the hands on Starscream.

No problem buddy, I'm always happy to help out my fellow countrymen. PM me your email address and maybe we can swap some TF warstories and tips&tricks in dutch. I've been looking for a kitbash buddy on this side of the pool.
