I mean I see people\'s complaints....but then I\'m reminded of Armada Sideswipe, the original RID optimus prime being a fire truck (and not having blue in the right places...THE HORROR) Energon Ironhide and plenty of others, which didn\'t get half of the hate Movie Hot Rod is getting atm. They were all seen as updates (admittedly out of the few I listed ironhide was hated) and were generally accepted.

Heck Arcee in Prime was a blue fucking bike but she was one of the best of the cast.

I think alot of us who grew up with G1, just want to see modern day takes on our favorite characters (except Bee. For the love of Primus, keep him a Camaro).

Most of us are well aware that the 80's have long since passed. We're not asking for 80's G1 to be what we see onscreen. Personally, I would love to see those 80's characters modernized. I want to see the Lambros as today's newest models of Lamborghini. I'd love to see Jazz as a modern Porsche. I like some of the new alt modes for familiar characters. I love Camaro Bee, Ratchet as a Hummer with his Prime colors, Crosshairs as a Corvette. I wouldn't mind Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen as Mustangs or Chargers. I think all that is being asked, is to keep some semblence of their iconic robot modes.
To that point, no, Bayverse Hot Rod is not the familiar iconic Hot Rod many of us recognize. The same goes for Jazz, Hound, Devy and a few others. There can be a happy medium, if Bay truly wanted it.

At this point, I'd be happy with a cartoon that modernized G1 but in the style of Prime (I liked Prime, so NO flaming please).

Also, to the people who are surprised he looks different, have any of the movie transformers significantly resembled their G1 counterpart aside from maybe Jazz and OP? No? It\'s been, like, 10 yrs. and going on 5 movies, folks. If you hate the designs that much, stop watching the movies, unless you\'re a glutton for disappointment, \'cause Bay isn\'t going to change this any time soon. Only if you stop going to these movies will anything change. Heads up.

Opinions are fine but saying stuff like "That's not hot rod" is not just annoying but extremely redundant. You have this habit of playing the victim when you're not.

Not sure when this article was written but Bonaventura mentions they haven't cast the VO for Hot Rod. wonder who's voice was in the IMAX preview.
