Vivian's 'baseball bat swinging' pose is amusing.
Hot Rod looks pretty cool.
Yeah I preferred his portrayal in the game than in the movie
He was always supposed to be orange. He has a slight red tint in the concept arts but if you look at his legs and feet, you can clearly see the orange.
Mirage? You mean Dino. The wiki has it backward. His real name is Dino, for some reason people think he's Mirage. He's not.
I've noticed that in the new pic, Hot rod has a lot more orange on him than this concept art, especially in the torso and legs
It may not be a great Hot Rod but it is a really nice lookin' bot. The orange coloring looks better than the red in the concept.
I think it's the angle. It's two toned.
More like reverse it, the Transformers will be the most important aspect while the humans are along for the ride. Remember the timeline (grain of salt) shows that humans owe Cybertronians everything, including their own creation since apparently Primus and Unicron fighting created the universe. The humans may be portrayed as powerful, but it's through the Transformers they are rather than just being capable of it themselves. It's kind of like the original Headmasters and Targetmasters.
As for Vivian, that does interest me. I had mulled over the possibility why she was with Optimus and why he was calmly talking to her as he stated Earth needed to die. A thought had came into my head was simply because, Optimus needed her. Merlin's staff responds to its owner and Optimis needed her and the staff to activate the Omega Lock. That's why the article mentions she had a genetic secret that can destroy or save the world; it's because she's most likely Merlin's descendant.
As for Hot Rod, he looks pretty good. But based on his pose... why do I get the feeling that I was right about them making him the flirty type when I heard he would have a French voice the first time?
I can't get much more excited for Hot Rod. Seriously.
Hot Rod had more character and personality in the preview than Dino had in all of DOTM.
Yeah that's why the camera is always on the humans 75% of the time right? And thats why humans are always some chosen one aswell. Say what you say but its clearly the other way around not how you said it.
He looks great! Can't wait to see him in action. Also excited to finally see this exchange between him and Vivian for myself, lol!
oh wow i do like his design!
so for anyone who has seen the imax preview, how strong is his french accent?
I'm not saying this applies to the previous movies. Also just case it's on the humans most of the time doesn't mean they're the most important aspect. I would like to point to G1's three-part finale where Spike and the aliens got a large amount of focus due to introducing the Headmasters and Targetmasters. Despite getting so much focus, the Transformers were still the more important aspect, especially with Optimus' storyline. Heck even Spike alone can be example with how much screentime he got, even managing to save the day himself a few times. He's important, but not important as characters like Rodimus or Galvatron.
This also isn't even taking into account that the Transformers can't be on screen the whole time. If it was completely animated, that would be a different story, but we're dealing with live-action CGI. I'm just grateful that they've been at least trying to give the Transformers more screentime and focus.
Besides, if the app is anything to go by (grain of salt) Optimus could end up being the leader over both Cybertron and Earth if the merge is successfully. Cybertron did have its own prophecy to go along with the prophecy of the last knight. It seems this film wants to put importance on the alliance between Cybertronians and humans rather than making the humans more powerful.
Great! To the front!
Is that Laura Haddock in the picure?
That's a lot of orange for a robot that transforms into a car that's 90% black carbon fiber.
Yes that's what it says below it,to the right "Laura Haddock and Hot Rod"
The colours can always change from the concept art to actual character.
Wasn't Sentinel Prime initially yellow in early trailers or something? Before finally being red in the movie.
